No lay offs in 2020! Guaranteed!

If you are concerned about possible layoffs, don’t look here. I was a victim of a layoff before joining Abbvie. The people who have information regarding layoffs won’t talk, but the people who don’t know, will gossip and guess.
Do yourself a favor and stop looking here. Want to sleep better? Take control, get your house(finances) in order. And network now, in and out of the industry. Prepare for the worse, and have faith that you have done everything possible.

Just got off the phone with the tooth fairy. Superman told him he heard from Bigfoot layoffs on Dec 1st. The call will come from HQ office on Mars.

When asked about the dec1 2020 layoffs this morning,my usual ambivalent DM was incapable of giving me a straight answet.looks like Dec 1 is possible.Good idea to start looking at other options besides abbvie!

when the company files Warn Act, like Pfizer did, that's when you need to worry.

Where online did you see Pfizer’s Warn Act? Not true.

I thought I saw someone talking to somebody who was almost sure they heard a phone conversation regarding a email in code that was regarding layoffs, or possibly a lunch order. They weren’t sure, if it was ham on rye or 500 to be let go. Better ask Pfizer.

They don't need to file a 60-day Warn notice during a pandemic. 100% fact, jack.

Pfizer WARN act is absolutely true. They just laid off a team of people, making them work til Dec 4. Then WARN act kicks in. Severance starts around Feb 1.

Tomorrow begins another day of uncertainty with this company...layoffs or not, abbvie sucks!
middle management should be the first to go.they are all overpaid morons who will do whatever to self promote themseselves.

This is sadly the most honest post I have read on this thread.

Another day of uncertainty? Abbvie sucks even if they keep you? This post is exactly why Rick needs to implement a reduction in workforce. RMs and DMs are following the directive of C Suite who are the overpaid ones. Nothing in life is certain. Use it as a positive motivator.

How’s it going to happen “fast”? This isn’t the end of world in the blink of an eye scenario. For Christ sakes, It’s a routine Pharma lay-off that played out thousands of times. Won’t be any faster or any slower. Pfizer and Ian Read are the absolute masters at acquiring, dissecting and then dumping and discarding the dead weight. Rick knows the drill.

For those who think of ,or are wishing that layoffs are not happening...keep On wishing and hoping.Fantasies can be an excellent defense mechanism we all use to deal with the harsh realities of life...it's normal.
The truth is that what use to be a very stable and secure carreer, pharmaceutical sales,is no longer the incredible job it used to be.
The company doesn't care about employees and their well being anymore. It's all a lucrative business designed to get the most out of you and your efforts to maximize their bottom line...$$$$$$$
Upper and middle management are trained to create strife and conflict in order to get sales force to conform to their tactics..those who don't comply are systematically weeded out through the layoff process.
Be proactive ,challenge your moronic DMs ,report and document all their actions during ride alongs, meetings, etc. When you do ,your actions, will most of the times, result in you not being another layoff casualty.

Who TF cares?! Ironwood is a company of a whopping 310 total, and are cutting 100 in staff bc the drug they banked is a no go. That makes total sense.
