Wow, this is certainly a quiet board. What's the feeling in the field these days? Suing the FDA can't be a good confidence builder....even if you do win. Is there a future with this company or is management hanging all hopes on a sweet buyout?
I've seen companies change data and manipulate numbers before, but usually its not this obvious. Management by intimidation, passive aggressive behavior. If Reduce it trial is successful the company is sold top people make a ton of money, if it fails the company goes under. No pipeline, no R&D, no plans for R&D. Reps have to use their own cars. Desperate times. People take the job until they can find something else. Turnover is significantly higher than industry average.
The outcomes of the Reduce trial won't be known until 2018. The patent for Vascepa runs out shortly thereafter. What happens if the FDA takes a bit too long in reviewing the studies or wants to see additional testing? Hmmmm....why would they want do that?
So what are the actual RX numbers by the by? There was some loudmouthed HQ sales manager trying to intimidate everyone on this board a couple months ago... the french fry guy... so how about it chowder head???
This place is a total joke. It's barely a pharmaceutical product. It's makes much more sens to buy over the counter fish oil for the same results. The company has one "product" and ZERO pipeline. Management is sitting around until 2018, hoping their study will lead to a buyout by a larger company. The fact that there a reps pushing fish oil is comical. If you're a Amarin DM, it's even more embarrassing. What a negative on the resume builder.
A good indication about a company is it's fleet policy. To be a real contender in the pharma world, you have to offer a decent car. Second rate and third world pharma companies. Contract companies, etc. offer allowances. Usually a flat rate or flat rate and mileage. It shouldn't matter what type of car you are driving to decide the rate they give you.....u less you work for a complete bullshit of a company. Pathetic
Management is a total joke. My manager goes into offices and tells providers that they are wrong and then expects them to write more Vascepa after he sets them straight. He lies to reps, has an attitude toward any rep that stand up to him, most of the time he seem drunk. He is stuck on himself, uses a ton of hair products, and wears very cheap suits. Seriously after that many disclosures and then giving all the detail on a study that was not even done with our product my providers as asking why are we talking about all these pts out of Japan.
Ah, but if you're new to the industry, are currently employed in a shitty contract position, or have been looking to get out of companies with poor reputations, such as Valeant, Horizon, Galderma, Endo, etc., then Amarin could be the greener grass you have been seeking. One man's trash is another man's treasure!
I don't know, maybe contract sales is actually better? At least with a contract there's always hope that you would be switched to another product when your initial contract runs out. At Amarin there's no future!?!?!?!?! No new products? No pipeline? Maybe you have a year to year and a half to make some cash...but then what??? That sounds worse than a contract to me!
