Management was aware of it, I'm sure. But nobody cared, as long as AA delivered sales above target and everyone was getting decent bonuses. Now that AA is in trouble, our execs pretend they newer knew anything and "condemn his actions". Don't know if company even helped him pay for the attorney. Bunch of cowards.
