Blue and Red DMs just got invitations for calls tomorrow.

 

Just got off the phone with the Amgen Oracle. They are on PST... so we have until 8pm EST still. If we don’t get the e-mails by then than that just means someone fell asleep or started drinking early. The oracle knows us...trust, peasants....trust

 

So is it just Red and Blue? Not IBU? ISS? OBU?

The oracle says that the admin responsible for the email to the other business units left for the day. Little jimmy missed the school bus.

 

So basically there are no other emails and it’s just BCBU blue and red.... everyone works remote, no one gets to “leave for the day” anymore...

Have you never been through this before? When they do mass layoffs and/or restructure they don’t schedule meetings the day(s) before and sometimes not even the day of...those impacted will all get individual calls, which takes time when there’s a lot of layoffs or structure changes. Those spared will find out who was laid off when their coworker texts/calls them to ask “were you laid off/moved to team X too?...” or on a call later in that day or the following day after everyone being laid off or moved gets their notification. Do you really think they are going to schedule a “layoff follow up meeting” that far in advance? Come on now.

 

Yes I have been through several. Each time there was an business unit wide call in which we found out there was a restructuring, then they would pick a day to tell us to all stay home and wait for a call. Everyone was notified on the same day via phone. I think that’s was the original prophet stated was happening..we are going to get invites for a call that will inform us of a restructuring, it wont be the call that informs us if we are getting laid off.
