I am looking at an opportunity to sell for the company, mainly the bone growth stimulator. I don't know much about it, except for the research. While it seems like a good idea to me, I'm looking for opinions from anyone that knows the product or sells it.

Is this a good product to sell?

    Thank you.

It depends on where you sell it. What's your market? Is there existing business?

Very good product spine..they also have the only stim for cervical fusions..a tougher sell on the long bone stim side..also really does depend on the territory.

Great spine bone growth stimulators for cervical and lumbar and great income on spine side. I would stay away from the OR side, RUN!!!!!

S&N's bone stim, Exogen, is clearly the better bone stimulator for long bones, etc. Better patient compliance and efficacy.
However, we have the market on cervical fusions at the present time but that will soon change.

It does depend on the territory for the OR side, some territories sell very little it makes up more than 50% of my business though. I don't have trouble competing against other products, sometimes docs just don't use them and that is the challenge to create new business. Working for them has been a great opportunity for me, Best of Luck.

Typical Jackass spine rep response. Show me what you know from a facts stanpoint on efficacy and compliance for Exogen.

Go pick up some more bagels for you offices, get your nails painted and call it a day.

Forget efficacy and compliance on Exogen for a min. The fact of the manner is that it's the newest product on the market and is already #1 in long bones national marketshare. Now, what was your objection?

Well, for starters my objection is you are a complete and total jackass that lacks command of the english language, lets start with "matter" not "manner" tool.

Do us all a massive favor, the next time you feel the need to post and display you lack of intelligence, pick up a hammer and continually slam yourself in the head with it. Maybe that will stop you!

    I love your enthusiasm though...

As long as I command the market....I could give a shit how manner or matter is spelled on a Blog.

Go ahead and hide behind your command of the English Language. I could care less.

Obviously poster #9 was desperate and had to pick on grammar/words because he/she can't argue the science.

It's hard to argue good clinical data. The Exogen system is hard to beat in Ortho.
    Spine is a good niche.

NOW we dont hear from you and your wonderful response. I dont work or sell Exogen but....I can see it now..."Doc, that rep if a fuckin douch bag, and well, use my product...because...well, did I tell you the exogen rep is an ass!"

PLEASE let me know how that works for you tomorrow when you eventually decide to stop surfing porn sites and see your customer...

Exogen... Really? Does anyone really think the doc cares if it heals 84% or 88%. My Doctors are more concerned with getting the patient their therapy quickly not to mention easily. Build report with the offices show up on time and be pleasant to the patient and the that should be it.

If that doesn't work ask them to how often they enjoy casts (that they had to window) and nasty gel everywhere in order to use the product. That usually works pretty well for me. All in all its the relationship like everything else if you are losing sales to a competitor because of 4% healing rate you need to consider a different career.

As an Exogen rep, I just ask the doctor,"which would you rather use if you had a fracture?" 20 minute, more efficacious treatment or 3 hours of wearing a cuff that makes you look like a "Home Bound Prisoner." Oh, and don't forget to plug in the battery pack.

Let's face it people. gel is a non issue with patients and it doesn't "get all over the place". Exogen just works better and has user/tech advantages. Pretty much a NO BRAINER.

If a cast tech doesn't know how to incorporate (NOT window) a piece of cotton into a cast then they are in the wrong profession.

There is a CPT code to window a cast = $$$. Its an absolute non-issue especially when the fracture is fresh trauma, femur, humerus, tibia, etc---you can't use anything else.

To all of you team exogen fans out there... take a step back and look at basic technology.

Ultrasound waves attenuate through tissue, its a known fact that the signal strength is lost as is passes through soft tissue, bone, etc. Knowing that; how is it possible that a 20 minute ultrasound treatment to a distal radius fracture can be as effective as a 20 minute ultrasound treatment to a midshaft femur fracture. Simply stated, it cant. Exogen was given FDA labeling based on retrospective studies that would never meet today's standards. S and N should be thankful that they are even in the marketplace.

Additionally, with the questionable ethics and practices of their field sales force, I'm sure they won't be a big player over the next few years. Reps giving free units to Medicare patients, falsifying documents, forgery of MD signatures... no holds are barred with those guys. Funny thing is that a good competitive rep can take all of the business with ease... providing honesty and unparalleled customer service coupled with a quality product like DJO's CMF. I've taken a territory from nothing to over 80,000 in revenue per month in only 4 months on the job. Pacing for an easy 150 grand this year. Have fun with your free units and placing patients who dont meet criteria. Department of Justice hearings should be a good time!

Yes, our heal rates are actually 10%. You are right and you don't need a source to prove your theory. Somehow we are #1 in market share and I still don't get it.

As far as fraud, all the companies (inc DJO) have had reps who were caught doing stupid stuff in the past. Moving forward if anybody from any company messes with Medicare, they will be FUCKED.

In the meantime I will continue to kill DJO out here and take the fx's before they become nonunion.

By the way, I do 200K+. Go work for a stable company. Blackstone is just going to spit you out and sell you off again.
