Amgen is expanding its bone health sales force by roughly 200 reps. These positions will be for those less experienced, perhaps even college grads... The salary range will be lower than all other sales forces... Nice to know one company is expanding in this industry. Prolia is a wonderful drug to sell!

I know they're looking for candidates where they can pay lower salaries but what's realistic in terms of a maximum salary?

The word on the street is that the range is 55-65K. Hope that is helpful.

Yes, we're absolutely serious. Today it's only 200 and soon it will be all 600. You don't think that people who led men in battle can be successful in sales? Those that know hot to lead, how to take orders? Former college athletes? Have to compete every day and understand the value of a team? People in business to business sales? If they don't get a signature on a sales contract they don't get paid. Yea, you're right, what they hell could any of those people know. They lead, put their asses on the line, know how to work in teams, put others ahead of themselves, appreciate and respect opportunity...I'll take a whole sales force of people just like that. Guess what, the company looked at all successful sales reps, in all BU's, and the traits above were common in most of those reps. What was not common? That they sold for some other company. The FUTURE IS NOW.

How about former military, former college athletes and people with B2B sales. People who have led, competed, know what teams are all about. wish we were hiring 600 just like that instead of 200, hopefully it's just the start and all the deadwood and CP crybabies will be outa here!!!!!Yea baby

Many a PCP product has been launched with grads just out of college. And many that have reached well above $1B.

Anyone can be taught to sell. We all didn't have sales experience at one time or another. But 200??? That means that there will be an expansive amount of expensive training and taking time out of productive people's time to help train them once they are in the field. Why don't we let the HSMs train them?? They don't have anything to do anyway! That's the biggest waste of a resource we have an they are all paid at the manager level!! Why don't they take the rest of them to the IBU and fill those internally and let the rest of us sell to those institutions. They have actually been given a mandate to stop promoting Prolia in those areas. Unbelieveable. Isn't that why they expanded??

successful sales isnt about leading men into battles. Its about making friends and getting to do you want them to when they really have little to vested interest in doing it.

Rep with this attitude quickly wear out their welcome. Most doctors were nerds in school and they hate people described above because they remind them of the guys who gave them wedgies in gym class.

I'm glad it's not about communication skills because you'd be up shit's creek. Sounds like you're 8 or 9, or perhaps working with an IQ of about 90, very caveman like. God you're dumb as a post you poor bastard.
