Has anybody else been having issues with burst? Conceptually it's great but my patients just don't seem to recognize the relief. At least with Tonic they knew the stim was on and working. With burst they have no idea and are continually questioning whether not it's working. How are the Nevro guys getting past this?

Great question and a fair one. Para is kinda the validation they are receiving some sort of stim. When they do not feel the tonic, they panic

Are they getting the extra 5% pain relief on the Burst waveform that the the Sunburst study reported?

Yes and doing it on a consistent basis.

    Then what's the problem?

Obviously, the OP's patients are not having the same experience...

It's a ever changing space. Saluda is the next Nevro? What's their story? Nuvectra with fill body MR soon. Peripheral nerve stim is really turning heads and Bioness and Stimwave are both on the front end of that charge. Boston and Medtronic next with HF. St Jude Burst is promising. Be thankful you're in this industry and playing with the big boys of medical device in the best speciality there is with neuromod

Nevro owns the IP on HF

Doesn't that depend on what happens with the Boston and their lawsuit?

Definitely, but that isn't getting sorted out anytime soon. I wouldn't expect to see any HF offering from anyone other than Nevro in the meantime.

Nevro owns the patent on HF for internal IPGs. Stimwave has the patent for external IPGs. Nothing to worry about the Stimwave product does not work period. Their CEO will be in jail by the end of the year and the product pulled from the market. They are all a big joke and the most unethical companies I have ever dealt with.

"external IPGs" ?? In addition to being pissed about being fired, you apparently are ignorant as hell. So it's an external, internal IPG right? Moron!

Please limit comments to relevant SCS technology. Stimwave does not qualify.

Burst is the better alternative to HF and with much less patient side effects. We all know that. It just keeps getting better for all of us in the space with this wonderful technology from Abbott

How come SJM hasn't published the Sunburst study?

Wow. Absolutely ridiculous. But what else can we expect from SJM. Less side effects? You mean like 38% of patients feeling parathesia? Like almost no improvement in pain relief from traditional? Like primary cells in all your patients for a 2 year implant life?

Ever wonder why Burst is priced lower than HF10 everywhere? It's because it has to be.

De Ridder was right, BURST kicks ass and now Jude is reaping the benefits. Between their dominance with DRG and Burst, pretty much game over people. Even you HF zombies are going regret pushing HF now that Burst has taken over as the leading therapy and provides the best overall relief

Kudos to the SJM team! It's not easy to sell doctors and patients on a 40% responder rate and two year battery life, but you guys have done it with Burst. Well done!
