I don't think it's "game over". No one buys a company for $650M and then dissolves it. Clearly, 3M chose a different direction, and this business arm was not in their core interest anymore. Patch technology is not going anywhere and will continue to be a part of medicine in the future. It doesn't matter who makes the patch, the patch will still be made.
