THE SEED HAS BEEN PLANTED. IF THIS IS A SUCCSESSFUL EFFORT THE NASTY STUFF DONE BY THIS CO ( EVIDENCE ON FILE) WILL BE THE DEAL BREAKER.
    THANKS NOVARTIS.

Everyone knows Novartis is not afraid of anything or anyone. So you should know that too. It is an invincible company that can do whatever they want in this country and that's that.
    Novartis = teflon for ever!?

This kind of law would be bigpharma's biggest & worse nightmare. Novartis Canada as well as all bigpharma crooks would fight its intro with all the monies and connections they have. Those who are behind this noble effort will have a hard fight on their hands. Funny in our democratic society where we preach justice and honesty those most crooked are able to stop democratic process to benefit from their crime. This often happens but not always so Nofartus and others better watch out, the time will come you'll lose. This seems the way democracy works, sometimes even honest people win.

With the new justice minister Hicholson bragging and promissing new tough laws against all and any crimes we will challenge him to come up with proper laws to deal with the worse crime of all, the corporate crime that is costing us far more than the "regular" crime. Both are bad but the white crime is far more dangerous for it endagers our very country and its democracy. The bastards at Novartis for instance have stolen far more than all the "reg" criminals put together. Take only Diovantage and Destination fake post market trials that cost us, the taxpayers well over 200 million. And that is only one type of crime they did and there is far more. Multiply this by the numbers of bigpharmafia companies and the amounts of stolen tax payers MONIES IS UNBELIEVABLE. So the new minister will have to listen to reason and not attack only the reg crime but the other crime too, the corporate and institutional crime. The time is now and we'll make sure this happens. ps; we know and you know that PC party is very tight with the big biz and it will be very painful for them to go after their "friends" and regular supporters. It will be up to all of us not connected to these bastards to stand up and excercise our democratic right to democracy and rule of law for all.

Read it somewhere else that this challenge has been done and is now in minister's hands. We'll see what will happenand if he will take his time to study the issue and make a positive decision to act, for he is on record saying "everyone is same before the law" and that must include the big-biz criminals too. If he does not as one of the key opposition MP's did (now running for NDP leadership) the people who are doing it will go to the press and expose the gutless politicians and make this a public issue and if the public is half interested in their own money being stolen by bigpharma and other big biz they will demand action. Someone must see this through for it is all of us who are paying big price for these crimes and that includes all you working in bigpharma and Novartis especially.

Have you ever watched "American Greed" on US TV network? I did today and they had the Bextra and Celebrex case featured. Pfizer was exposed in full, with their criminal behaviour that was done with complete approval by their management. A classic case of off-label promotion, with lies, bribery, payoffs, expensive gifts, hired guns (speakers for hire) promoting off-label use, huge dosage> The sales force even went to dentists to promote use of Bextra as general pain killer. Just a pure greed nightmare for which Pfizer was punished with $2.3 billion in fines half of it for criminal and half for civil offences.
Now does anyone think and believe Pfizer did not do the very same illegal practice here in Canada? Of course they did. They took these two drugs and promoted the hell out of them pushing it well beyond the narrow approved indication by HPB. What happend to them? Nothing. If we had the same FCA type of law of our own, same thing would happen to the Canadian affiliate and we the people who paid for their criminal promotions, would get our money back and more. On top some good, brave citizen and employee of this most crooked Co (even worse than Novartis that is fast catching up) would have come forward with evidence, sued Pfizer on behalf of our gov't and when Canadian Pfizer paid at least 10% of that $ 2.3 billion (we are usually 10% of USA), he or she would be awarded at least $ 6 million for doing the right thing. Now you see how much we are missing for not having such strong and effective law to fight this most despicable of crimes. Preying on our sick and vulnerable while looting our public health care system we all pay for.
If we just exposed only half of these bastards and took our money back from them by way of appropriate fines, we would not have any financial issues with our health care. So one can say with confidence that the crimes of bigpharma are responsible to large extent for financial problems we have with our cherished public health care.
Are you still proud to work for this Co and this biz the way it is today?

Are you kidding? This gov't and its mnisters would not introduce ANY laws that even in the most minuscule way interferes with the big biz's "freedom" to do whatever they want and need to get their deserved and undeserved profits. That means anything goes, maybe short of leaving dead bodies in the streets of our cities. Look at the example of bigpharma, including this Co. Already described many times and proven that our companies are not prosecuted and/or punished as a rule. There are extreme cases this happens but that is far and between. So this means that our gov'ts of all political colors are not interested to change the status quo. Imagine this: We have the Canadian version of FCA and we have a federal minister who blew $50 million on his electorates under the pretence of spending it on G20. You know the story and who we are talking about. Now you work for him and are an honest person who disagrees with this abuse of power and frankly illegal maybe even crimnal act of using taxpayers money on his electorates without any reason or authorization. Who knows how many of his people ( relatives, friends and even himself) helped themselves to the "feast" etc. You have the evidence this is so. Under the FCA you can sue the minister or his ministry for misconduct. The gov't can join with you (but you don't need them and in this case they would not go against their own) take over and get the case to court and eventually fine the ministry, say $ 50 million to recover your money. You under the rules of FCA are entitled to 10-20% of the fine as reward for doing the right thing. Thus you don't need to work any longer and no one would give you a job anyway, least your minister or his gov't.
Same thing could have been done in governing party's illegal use of funds during the election. A whistleblower could have done the same thing, come forward and sue the party for misconduct. The rest you know. BUT this can not happen for we have no FCA and this gov't ain't going to intrduce one either in the forseeable future. Why should they? To put their friends in big business in danger of being sued for the crimes they do with impunity? Worse to put their own party and gov't in danger of experiencing the same as the hypotetical case showed? Not a chance people. Only when we have true democracy with the gov't by the people for the people this will be done. People can wait and they always win in the end.
The time for FCA has come and no one can stop an idea and need whose time has come.

"ROCHE PAYS $20M TO SETTLE WHISTLEBLOWER SUIT", also in Pharmalot report. So it is not only Novartis that has gone criminal amongst Swiss based and owned cos. Since Novartis and Roche are the two biggest in that country, there are very few left that have not gone criminal in that once pristine country. Mind you it is their Genentech co that pushed Rituxan off lable. A whistleblower with evidence sued them (no gov't DOJ joined) and this is the settlement. He was awarded $ 5.7M for his good work and courage. Another good example of power of the FCA they have but we don't. Thus our bigpharma continues to do the same misconduct with impunity. If anyone thinks that this drug is not promoted for offlabel as we speak, again I have a bridge to sell you.
Till we have it, if you are with any of these Canadian crooked Cos. do the right thing; look for, collect and file the evidence. Sooner or later it will come in handy. In fact if you are working for Canadian affiliate to this Co I am sure you know what is going on and could start that work today.
As punishments go in USA, this one is just a token one due to low sales of this drug. Still far from what they would pay to Rx&D if someone complained of this illegal and possibly deadly promotion.

You have read about the "problems" Novartis USA has on regular basis due to their routinely employed crooked ways in spite of the permanent and present danger of being cought and punished. They figure the fines they pay are just a cost of doing biz. Imagine they pay over $400 million in civil and criminal fines and they come ahead in the deal. So they do it again, again, again..At the same time you as basically honest person, think how wonderful Canadian affiliate is that it does such a good honest job in providing our sick with some good drugs and most so-so. But it is done in an honest way as the record shows compared to the US affiliate that even you and your management must admitt is at least somewhat dishonest if not dowright criminal (as the record actually shows/proves).
Well you are wrong. The only reason Novartis Ca. looks good is that it did not get caught. Due to lack of FCA type of laws, you or anyone around you who has the evidence and knowledge of what is really going on with your affiliate can not go out and expose this crook, for you would have no protection or incentive to do it and after all you need this, let's face it pretty well paying job in todays job market.
Also the Rx&D that has fined Novartis that token fine of $10K for fake postmarket. trial Destination, did not do the right thing after catching Novartis doing the illegal thing. Being the private club of Canadian bigpharma, Rx&D must protect their members so the case of crooked Destination that cost our taxpayers in excess of $150 million (combined with Diovatage 1-5 crooked trial) was not taken to our law enforcement authority to deal with as it was supposed to be done according to our laws. Another good protection afforded to this co by Rx&D, amongst many before and after, for this and any other club memeber.
So this is the real reason your Co has not been exposed and it looks so devine and honest compared to your cousin company south of the border.
    This must and will change.

Agreed. Novartis Can pays no attention to warnings. They see the whistle blower cases in the US but it doesn't stop them. They just move away from written records and communicate via confdrence call. It crosses all therapeutic areas. They pay physicians to do injections for Aclasta, and encourage reps to position it as a money maker. When physicians don't have the right equipment novartis can remedy that with an "educational grant". Pure and utter bribery. One manager encouraged reps to call patients directly to set up appts for aclasta injections because physican didn't have the time to do it. If any government agency wants evidence against Novartis all they need to do is subpoena the so called "letters of request" for educational grants. Suprisingly they may find they all have very similar wording- what a coincidence.....

Bravo! You must be one of few if not the only one who has the guts to come forward with the truth. Others look the other way for they need their job, but if we had the False Claim Act Canadian style, many would come forward and do the right thing. I see nothig has changed in this co since they has couple of "scares" when some came forward and complained internally re the illegal/criminal practices. They only went deeper into the underground, invented fail-safe ways of doing it. No Computer or paper evidence, but they can not eliminate everything. There are traces of corruption (as that letter is, checks issued etc.) that can be located and used as evidence. Trouble is at this time, current gov't is even less interested in crimes of corporations, as long as they are not so obvious or leaving dead bodies in the streets. This will change sooner or later. Good advice to someone like you is that you collect and file every piece of evidence you can locate (if you have not done it yet) for someday it will come very handy to you even in this country. This plundring of our health care can not continue indefinetely for the bigpharma as biz has been stealing and defrauding so much that we are at critical stage when their loot taken will seriously impede the functioning of our health system. You see when you steal "too much" it shows up as serious impedement to those you steal from. But since bigpharma and your Co has become so greedy they can not curtail their plundering thus sooner or later it'll come out and someone will do something about it. Just take Diovantage and Destination fake trials; your co has defrauded people of this country by at least 150 million as someone has reported who knows and who was part of it and most likely has hard evidence this took place. Some day that will be useful to prove the crime for there is no escaping from crime ever.
Keep your gunpoweder dry for the day of settling the accounts is coming and you want to be on the right side of history.

We have first hand knowledge that after someone reported "irregularities" to Basel that went out of control in Dorval, the boys in HQ quickly changed few things around. That included the way they gave out the bribe money via "educational grants". To cover their behinds 100%, one of their managers we believe by the name Pula Smpiosn was give a task to iron out a full proof "letter of request" that would not show any doubts it is a bribe type of payment to doctors. So he went to the top law firm in Toront, Novartis uses for their dirty work and defence of undefensible and asked them to develop such letter. That is why they are all the same for doctors are given the text so their secretaries can retype it with doctors' names and other details inserted. They think they covered their illegal offerings to doctors with weak moral values of which we have plenty. For few who are still around you may remeber the Diovan Investment Fund. There they offered grants of up to $25K in return for Rxing this drug to 3-5 times the amount given. They were not subtle in asking return for a bribe at all. Perhaps they realised that even though they don't have to worry as much as USA based Novartis there are still laws in this country that could be used against them given the evidence and someone with guts to go after them. Why not play it safe and steal, plunder and rob the people of this country in more subtle ways. Whe we get the right law this will end. Remember: Collect, File, Wait the right moment. It is coming.

For those of you who agree with the illegal, immoral, unethical and generally crooked ways of your co there is good news. The gov't that you so unconditionally support ( in turn they support your Co and you as implementors of their crooked ways) has just proven that they ARE NOT INTERESTED to in any way put your and all other crooked companies (numbers in tens of thousands if not millions) in harms way. The justice minister after being exposed to information and evidence of Canadian bigpharma's machinations completely faild to even respond let alon take some action.
So for now you may be safe. However this does not mean those who are involved in this activism will give up. There are umerous avenues they can use to get where they want to go. As someone said there are many ways to skin a cat (apologies to catpeople) and one or two always turn out to be the right ones.
In fact the number of individuals and activists' org. are increasing thus the efficacy in numbers is taking place. There is no way this Co and this biz will get away with all those things the very same companies in USA have paid heavily for very same crimes. No way & that is a big promise.

Look, if you have the evidence that Novartis used fake trials to sell diovan and make hundreds of millions in extra profit paid for by gov't health care, why not go to RCPM and give it to them. Why wait for this law that may never come? Do it. Crime is a crime and must be punished.

The evidence covers far more than just Diovan scam. While few avenues have been unsuccessful to get them to justice, the trip to RCMP is not off the table. In fact that will be the final step if and when all others failed. There is no way the evidence will be "wasted" or covered up by us. We know and they know there is no statute of limitation on crime. The big question we have in mind is about the RCMP. Is this law enforcement force any better than our politicians when it comes to corporate crime? Keep tuned in.

  16. GlaxoSmithKlein: if you still disagree or doubt we must get the Canadian version of FCA, here are 3 billion reason why we must. GSK has been fined for their crime in USA but not in Canada. Why not? No FCA and no whistleblowers to put out the evidence this co did the very same or worse crime in Canada. And it will get away with this "murder" against our health care system and people. If you take the traditional view Canada as 10% of USA, then GSK Canada has committed crime as big as 10% of that one done by same co in USA. That means if we had our own FCA someone would come forward and our own crooked GSK would be fined at least $300 million that would go back to our people. On top the brave whistleblower would walk away with 5-15% of that loot as reward for his/her heroism. Not this time due to our gutless laws and gov't that blindly supports the biggest thiefs in history of human activity the bigpharmafia. As for your Co Novartis they are the same if not as big as GSK in crime, but the crime is a crime. In some estimate your Co has stolen at least $3/4 billion in the last 10-15 years via many schemes including Diovantage, Destination, bribery, false claims, offlabel promo and the list goes on and on.
Just in case we do get the FCA, be educated. Read the Whistleblowers of Novartis unite at Novartis USA board. You will learn what and how to do it. Whatever you ever do NEVER whistleblow internally as you are asked by Novartis for your ass will be done, they will cover up the crime and get away with it as they do now. The key is to go outside the co and expose them the right way. Sadly the GSK rep Greg Thorpe who originally exposed the crime internally got nothing to spek off, they got rid of him but some other smarter WBers went outside and now they are in for good reward for doing the right thing. Poor Greg could have walked away with at least 5% of that 3B. you do the math. But don't get us wrong it is not about the reward as much as it is about ketching the thiefs like your and other bigpharmafia wiseguys. How long will they be allowed to steal, plunder, loot and hurt innocent people while pretendng they are such a big shit doing us all favours, saving our lives with their drugs. Just because of this they think they are entitled to steal from us for the rest of our lives after they "saved" us. Fuck them they deserve to go down and they will, soon even in this country.

Let's hear from all those who have evidence of this Co's criminal practices. And if you'd be willing to come forward with it, do the right thing and make some serious money as reward for turning this crook in. Under the still non-existent Canadian FCA you'd be entitled to good percentage of the fine this and many other crooked pharma cos would pay for their crime they do with complete impunity at this time as they did for generations.
Just on Diovantage and Destination fake post market trials, where they stole at least $200 million from our health care system so far, the fine would be at least that much. So your reward would be in millions at least 10%. Not bad for doing the right thing.
Let's see if you at least have guts to comment. It'll be a good start.

  18. Those of you working and doing crime for Sanofi already know that your Co based in US just paid $ 106.000.000.00 in fine for paying and giving kickbacks on your drug Hyalgan. You must likely did the same thing in Canada and you did not even make local news let alon national with a big pill thrown at you by the law. What law? We don't have the good law as in USA, thus you as all bigpharma crooks will get away with it and many more crimes.
Again if we had that law, the Canadian version of False Claim Act your ass would be as done here as south of the border. Someone in your co would have collected the evidence and blown that whistle on you, the crooks. But that will not happen for a while thus any of you who has still left some degree of decency and honesty will have to wait till your time comes.
That time came for a brave hero by the name of Mark Giddario, who blew the whistle on Sanofi USA and will be recepient of $ 18.500.000.00 in justly deserved reward.
As for you and others so proudly working for canadian bgpharmafia, enjoy your Christmas and other holidays. And when you get that Christmas bonus you know it came from the stolen $$$ from our public health care system.
Now yu see (but disagree) why we must get that FCA in this country. The crooks in thiz biz, and all others that may or may not be better, must be stopped and brought to justice. With next god gov't we'll do it. The harperism as a fascist neo-con regime would never "hurt" their corporate buddies for they are all in it together.

For this kind of crime your company is doing, we'll have to wait for a while yet. BUT changes might be on the way. You must be aware of the new budget this big biz protecting government has introduced this week. Of course it is typical neocon budget directed against the real folks of this country but there is one surprise. The fat minister of finances decided to go after the crooks who hide and hoard stolen monies in tax havens all over the world. Yes, he introduced the new rule where anyone who reports a crook who hides millions in tax havens and the govt recovers at least 100K in taxes, the whistleblower will be rewarded 15% of the recovered amount. Not a bad begining to bring the crooks to justice.
If this minister of harper fascist govt decided to do this, that means thing got so bad in terms of tax evading that he simply had to act. Billions are hidden by our crooked corporations and their supporters. If one is to guess the amount must be close to trillion dollars, otherwise this minister would not have reacted.
Now the other side of the coin. The crime done by companies like yours. The misconduct and general illegal practices they do that result in defrauding our society, not only by evading taxes but literally stealing of billions upon billions by use of criminal practices to do business. Like your Co's, say Diovantage and Destination fake trials. Hundreds of millions were taken from our health care system via fraudulent practices.
This kind of behaviour must also be punished, just like tax evadors via taxhavens. The only way to do this is to introduce a wider law to include every kind of illegal/criminal practice. Only Fasle Claim Act type of law would do.
Right now thare are good people and activist organizations that are working on this issue. We will do our utmost to make this govt via the finance minister (who must be open to FCA after his new law) and the evidence of misconduct done by your company will be used to prove our point and convince him the time has come to stop companies like yours from plundering our health care system, we the people pay for it.
By the way, if you knew someone or some corporation hiding their millions in Bahamas, for instance, would you report them to Revenue Canada?
Remember the reward of 15% you will collect for doing the right thing.
By the way we all know that your company hides their money in the mother of taxhavens:Switzerland. No need to use Bahamas or any other. Right.
