If you are suggesting Canada is such a wilde place that does not even have regulations for flashlight, you are right. This is country with almost no regulations compared to other civilized ones. Why do you think this is a best haven for domestic and international criminals. We have number of Italian mafiosi, wanted by law, living in Woodbridge Ont, Montreal and other places completely in the open and with no fear of extradition to Italy or any other country.
Why do you think, Novartis got away with their schemes like Diovantage, Destination and others? Same reason.
If anyone knows of any new and improved schemes, let us know if you are not completely on their side, of course. If we don't see any reportes we can assume all of you are simply looking the other way,and/or actively parcipitating in doing the crime, under oders from Basel via Dorval.

Funny. But the irony is that if any regulation will be introduced, the fascist harper govt.would introduce that regulation much sooner than Canadian FCA. It'd hurt no crooked Co. or crooked assholes that run them. In fact it'd make them use IT even during board room meetings while they plan the next big fraud, looting and otherwise fucking the Canadian public. You see these crooks that run these crooked companies are exclusevely men who can't even purchase a woman. They are so unsavory and socially and otherwise unacceptable. Of course, they can purchase this thing and as they routinely do, put it on their expense accounts under, Other. Capisce?
ps: The infamous Dr. Don Weasella, X Novartis CEO ( as in weasel) stole millions over 17 years via his expense accounts under "Other". Never submitted any receipts or explanations for "expenses". Now he is investigated for "irregularities" by both USA and Swiss authorities. Too bad he did not operate out of Canada, nothing bad would have happend to him in this crooks' haven. So the moral of the story is; if you want to be a big time crook you move to Canada. If you are already a big time crooks, you guessed it, move to Canada.

News item:Journalist uncover 130.000 names of crooks stashing away their money intax havens around the world. About 450 are canadians.
Now we are clear why this neocon minister of finance introduced the reward for bringing them in. He knew about the names bofore the public, thus he had to do it, to cover his and harper govt's asses. If the list were made public before he could not appear he is after these crooks, when in fact he is their friend and supporter. He could have done this long ago if he and his govt were interested to stop the bleeding of tax dollars in billions. But that would be hurting the, what do they call them," job reators." Yes they create jobs in China and other places, import the shit made over there, sell it & take their loot, pay no taxes and then create other jobs in tax havens where they have to hire some more clerks to handle their billions.
It'll be interesting to watch this govt's action. Now they don't even need whistleblowers. They have in fact the list to use. I bet here with anyone, they will not punish even 10 of them. It would be simply against their neocon religion.

Story related to this: TALE OF TWO BROTHERS
Did you know that harper's #1 bully, Jason Kenney has a brother Martin Kenney who uses the family's bully trait for good purposes? If not, here is a short tale. Martin is a lawyer that has the reputation of top global fraud fighter. What he does, finds the fraudesters, brings them to justice and recovers the defrauded money. Neat isn't it? He is the best and does this worldwide for all kinds of people including goverments. He just recoverd over billion dollars for Brazilian govt. What he told Janson is something you already knew if you read this and other trends re Novartis. Canada is a soft touch for the white collar crime and thus has become a haven for many frm around the world on top of our own crooked ones. We call them Organized corporate criminals or OCC. Martin gets embarrassed when traveling around the world and getting comments re Canada's poor record in dealing with OCC. Take Novartis defrauding our health care system via, just two mentioned fake postmarketing trials. To the tune of $3-400 million. Yet they paid only $10.000 fine to Rx&D. That is what Martin talks about and more, much more.
Things woud be much different if we had the FCA Canadian version, of course. We would have hundreds of whistleblowers doing the right thing, exposing the crooks as they do in USA. There they get real fines in hundreds of millions sometimes billions. Unfortunately even there no one goes to jail, thus the crooks go on, for the fines are just the cost of doing their crooked biz. That may change sooner or later but for now at least USA govt recovers some of the stolen money, WBers get rewarded, while here they get away with our money
and continue the crime with impunity.
Funny thing though, if we had FCA or when we do, Novartis and others will continue with their crime just as well. Just as in USA they will pay the huge fines, Wbers will get rewarded and the co and biz will go on with their crime. Same, the govt will recover billions but the crooks will still be ahead. Say in case of fake trials: 400M stolen, 200M fines still would leave profit of 200M for Novartis. As of now the profit is still 400M minus that puny 10.000 fine.
How wonderful this country is. Isn't it? No?

News item:" Whistleblower in chcolate price-fixing probe was Cadbbury"
Did you read it? As all biz does the chocolate makers use illegal/criminal practices to fleece you. In this case price fixing (you know what pharma does with Novartis leading the pack) to steal your kids hard earned or obtained money. Millions in extra "sweet" profits were made, till Cadbury then CEO blew the whistle to Competition bureau of Canada. Why did he do it? Perhaps he thought others were getting more. Something like in bigpharma when Novartis did the Destination fleecing the taxpayers, some other maker of ARB reported you to Rx&D to stop you. You know the result.
They all paid fines totaling: $22.3M. Even Cudbury paid $5.7M even though was promised immunity. Since we don't have the FCA type law, this is not a bad alternative. But if we had it, some low ranking emloyee of any of the crooked chocolatiers would have blown the whistle long ago, your children would save millions and the WBer would have been rewarded for doing the right thing.
Also this appraoach can be used against pharma co, Novartis included, if you want to do the right thing without reward other than returning the money via fines to your fellow citizens. All you need collect that evidence, apprach appropriate authority and do the right thing. Chances are they would have to investigate if you also approach the media or threaten to do it. Price fixing or defrauding the health care are as criminal as anything else. So let's see if we can do something about the bigpharma crime while waiting for the proper law like FCA. By the way there are number of good people with activists' org. who are working on FCA type of law for Ca. as you read this. It is coming you can be sure of it.

Canada's FCA'? Forget about it. No govt of any color short of anrchists would do it. Just read "UNDERSTANDING POWER"' The indispensable Chomsky, by Peter Mitchell and John Schoeffel. When you do, you'll completely understand what the system you live in is all about. You'll see that you as one of us, are nobody who has nothing but naked life and who can no nothing but but be obedient to those who are really in power: the private capital. They control everything including your govts at all levels.
In such a society there is no chance to introduce any law that would hurt them in any way. FCA in USA was introduced in 1846 when the power was still in people's hands. Today there would be no chance at all to get a law like that. Even with democrats in complete control of govt. The real control is in hands of..... you know who now and will understand it completely once you read the book.
By the way, is there any chance someone like you, who is an apologist and supporter of harper type of regime to read such a book? Hardly, no?

    EXTRA.....EXTRA....EXTRA....Ex....
While you are "hoplessly" waiting for your govt to come up with Canadian FCA, there is more evidence that you can do something about the crimes your company did and is still doing: As example above you can look up following: "The Whistleblower who Exposed SISO Fraud in Hamilton". This at FAIR blog in current addition.
Briefly: SISO was a private agency looking after the needs of new immigrants in Hamilton for which they were paid for by YOU, the taxpayer as govts like to call us. The management submitted fake bills etc to the govt thus defrauding it for 4 million in 4 years.
One employee (Romanian immigrant) who was ordered to "cook" the books, collected the evidence, came forward and blew the whistle to RCMP. He was so afraid what was going to happen to him that he behaved like Lefty in Donni Brascko, that mafia movie when he had to see his mafia boss at the end. Remember, he left all his personal belongings to his girlfriend. Same with the Romanian, he left his watch and wallet with a friend to be give to his wife in case RCMP whack him. Of course he was OK as you would be in case you decide to show up with documents/evidence at RCMP office and blow that whistle you should have done years ago. The criminals/managers are prosecuted and the agency is out of biz with over 150 people losing jobs.
Compare this fraud with what is reported here Novartis did with Destination and Diovantage fake research schemes. $4 million vs at least $200 million, possibly $400M over all these years and that with these two schemes alone. Many more to be exposed thus we are talking close to mindbogling billion dollars of taxpayers hard earned money, in fraud over years since the merger in 1996.
You see if THERE IS IRREFUTABLE EVIDENCE EVEN GOVT VIA RCMP MUST DO THE RIGHT THING AND PROSECUTE THE CRIMINALS IN THIS COUNTRY. BUT YOU MUST COME FORWARD AND DO THE RIGHT THING. IT IS DOABLE AND IT IS THE RIGHT THING TO DO.
There are many Novartis insiders looking at this and may think (in fact they are sure) you will never have the guts to do it. They are not even worried but they monitor the situation, just in case. PROVE THEM WRONG. If a newly arrived Romanian saw what was right and decent thing to do, why not you too who most likely were born in Canada and owe it to Canadian people to do the right thing.
We'll be watching along Novartis' apologists, crime doers and supporters.

  9. Hunting the cheats: "Canada now pays for snitching on tax cheats". Yes your beloved, current super-pro-corporations & rich, govt decided to "hurt" some of their friends. The super tax cheaters, those who stash their ill-aquired loot into tax heavens, overseas/offshore. These crooks are responsible for billions upon bilions of tax evasion that directly affects the very life of majority of Canadains, but not the corporations and the rich. The amounts of stolen billions are so huge that they depriv the very govt and the country of funds that could be used for better and more just society in this country that has been slipping in every measure of goodness and decency, UN and other innational bodies look at. The worse is that we are becoming as bad as US, in many measures ineqality being the worse. The stolen billions could help if the greedy harper govt would not use it for their own purpose of further cutting the taxes for their other crooked friends who apear to be honest, at least in paying their low taxes.
If you know of any big shot who evaded taxes in millions, you could end up with 15% of recovered taxes as reward for doing the right thing. Reporting the bastards.
Only the big fish counts, so if you want to report someone evading few thousands, do it only out of citizen's duty, not 4 rewad.
This new law may be a good start toward eventually bringing in Canadaina version of False Claim Act. If you read about this here and elsewhere, you'd know that the real crime is done by all corporations and the take/loot they take is stagering. In trillions. Novartis alone has defrauded at least 1 billion over years and nothing has happened to them. Not in Canada but some significant fines in USA, where they do have the law.
But don't get your hopes too high for harper et al would not dare bring in such law, it would hurt too many of their friends, including Novartis and every last bigpharma co in Canada.
In my opinion, if we had the FCA and we as citizens did the right thing, collect the evidence and blow the whistle on every fucker out there, we as canadian regular folks would not need to pay any taxes. The recovered loot would be that big.
    Just think about it.

News item: Offlabel use of drugs a problem in Canada says Toronto Star, that did some investigative journalism. This is the fact, not news. It has been a problem for long time. It cost this as well any country, billions in extra un-necessary cost and of course countless patient suffered and died.
The journalists are barking at the wrong trees. They blame the govt as well as doctors for this tragedy. But we know better, don't we, who the actual culprit is.
Yes, you guessed it. It is the bigpharma everywhere they operate, meaning literally everywhere in the world.
And why are they the culprits? Simple, for they are the ones who invented the offlable use and worse THEY ARE THE ONES WHO ACTIVELY PROMOTE THE OFFLABEL USE TO DOCTORS. The offlabel use is the mother of bigpharma crimes, the original sin they invented and developed to the extent of an art form.
In some countries, like USA where they do it routinely and with all the intensity they can, but thanks to their FCA laws, there are serious consequences. You know that and you have seen it all over the place. Even Novartis that is doing the offlable crime in Canada with impunity (no laws) has been fined over $1/2 billion for doing it in USA.
Small change so they are on their way to do some more, on daily basis. Even in USA, so you can imagine what they do in third warld countries where corruption is a way of life, anyway.
Amongst the crooked business in general, the bigpharmafia is the most evil. No doubt.
As for the govt it too can be blamed for having their part in this crime. It simply and completely failed to regulate the pharma biz enough to make sure they do the job what they are meant to do; provide good drugs, proven effective and safe and approved by HPB as so. All they do is have a drug approved for an easy to prove indication, then sell the hell out of it for any offlable indication they can think of.
Next time your mother is Rxed something, make sure you don't care, as you don't care when you are ordered to push your co's shit beyond what it is approved for.

Re offlabel Rx: No wonder Novartis has promoted almost every major drug for offlabel use over the last decades. The govt does nothing about it, patients are suffering and dying, while the bigpharmafia continues to rake in billions in extra sales and profits. No one cares including the doctors, unfortunately.
Someone wrote, that the biggest crime of bigpharmafia is that they managed to completely corrupt our most important asset in health care, our doctors. Yes the doctors used to be noble creatures, dedicated to the wellbeing of their patients. They would do the right thing everytime and never put patients' life at risk. Not anymore. With drug cos dangling all kinds of "benefits" in front of them, most have given in and joined the bigpharmafia in taking part in looting of this nation and its population, via all kinds of misconduct/crime invented and developed to the extent of art form, by the bigpharmafia.
Yet no one is doing anything about it, including your govt on all levels. Of course the neo-con, profascist govt you elected twice, would never hurt their financiers the big biz, bigpharmafia being the most generous, by introducing any "hurtful" laws like say the USA style False Claim Act. That would be too dangerous for the biz crooks, thus you continue to be treated like shit by all sides, bigpharmafia, doctors and govt itself.
The more you are treated like shit the more you feel like one and in the end you become one. You deserve it for you yourselves do nothing to change things ever.
As someone said: you deserve the govt you elect, so you deserve the type of life you let happen to you.

WELL SAID. IT ESPECIALLY PERTAINS TO CANADIANS. THEY HAVE TO BE THE LEAST RESISTANT/REBELLIOUS PEOPLE ON EARTH. WHEN THEIR GOVT OR CORPORATIONS SPIT IN THEIR FACES THEY SIMPLY SAY; IT'S RAINING.

Without strong law in Canada, like FCA in USA and other countries, Novartis and other Bigpharmafia gang members will continue their looting of our public health care system. But even in USA, where there is this kind of law, they continue their looting with understanding, that if they are caught, they pay the fine and go on with the same or worse.
But in some countries the authority is being more aggressive in stamping out these criminals: In south Korea the offices of Novartis were raided and documentation re its operations was sized. The Novartis affiliate is suspected (guilty till shown/proven innocent) of big time bribing of everyone they can to loot their health system. That includes doctors to Rx their shit in exchange of some Korean currency, whatever it is. Maybe even Swiss Franks, the most desirable money on this Planet.
Let's see what will come out of this, another raid on Novartis offices. This will not happen in Canada, even though there are all kinds of rumors ato this Co's crooked ways. Proofs too, but your authority is on their side. How wonderful the crooked capitalism is? Ain't it?
Omerta for ever, is their creed.
