Dear Joe...you all are fricking idiots for having a Summit in Chicago in Feb! Are you brain dead? We make thousands of dollars a day in office and can't take the chance of getting stuck in a blizzard or just winter weather at Ohare! Stop it! Meaning stop putting pressure on your reps to get us there!! You're the dumbass that picked Chicago! Now live with it! I would fire your dumbass if I could!!!!

Not rocket science. Summit meeting in Chicago with the expectation of customers that would have to fly in to attend just makes zero sense. Is anyone doing a smell test on some of these bone head decisions? Hello???? Is anyone minding the ship???

Please make a note of this: Doctors that agree to attend a Summit are wined and dined in the best 5 star resorts across the country. After the Summit, they are offered promotions only available to those who were invited and attended the Summit. When they return, they are expected to place orders that far exceed anything they would normally purchase. Reps are required to follow up in person within a few days of the Summit end to push these doctors into placing huge orders for SM products. They basically have to go in and shame them into placing orders. Some will order products in good quantities because they believed the information they saw at the Summit. That's fine. It's those that are not willing to shell out the $10K plus where it becomes a problem. Reps are basically put on the whipping post as to why the account didn't order or order more and the customers are left to feel like the whole Summit was nothing more than an attempt by us to make our month end numbers. The required follow up and timing of the promotions is quid pro quo at its finest. You spend 10K on a doc to attend a promotional Summit and he/she is EXPECTED to spend 10K on SM products within a couple days of returning to the office. This just feels so sleezy and tricky. That's why its the sleeziest reps and managers that fill all these seats. It's just in their nature to deceive and mislead all with a smile and a pat on the back!
