Not on pathology blawg. Is this for sure or just a rumor?

 

Its true - no cuts. have a happy thanksgiving

 

No cuts or did the 88305 just get cut by 24%, at least on the prof side?

 

I'd like to know this too, but can't find specifics anywhere. One person told me that there will be cuts but not the drastic ones. Any cut in the current environment, which is only get worse with the AHCA, can threaten the stability of already shaky lab bottom lines.

 

See today's Pathology Blawg. Doesn't sound good. Not as bad as it could be, but still not good.

Now that the CMS story is out, will GE stick with Clarient?

 

Man, this post has been so quiet that it's scary.

 

Things are quiet while GE is in the process of selling Clarient.

 

Oh................who is the buyer?

 

CMS Rates are great until the end of Q1...They may go down then. They just laid off another 45 employees yesterday!

 

45?! Do you know what areas they worked in?

 

Internal, mostly positions already worked by numerous other employees.

 

Hear there are more RIFs to come

 

Spoke with a former Clarient salesperson who said the company had spent more than five years focusing on a new IT system for the lab and lost focus on new product opportunities. Evidently there is still no new lab system and very few, if any new products causing many of the sales team to move on. Guess it did not help when they also started a new commission system.

 

IT system is in the works. Investment made on the back end to prepare for data and IT.
