From the sounds of things, careers may be short lived at Somaxon, but just curious what the car choices are. Feel free to judge and criticize, which is the usual MO on CF, then maybe someone could actually answer please. Thanks.

Why are the careers short lived?

Just seems like Silenor isn't doing well. Lots of talk about generic competition and possible OTC status. Still willing to take a chance and turn it around, but just curious about cars, that's all.

Every board has a negative vibe to it. It's easier to complain if you don't want to get from the big pharma, please let me have it easy and make money. The cars a chevy malibu and the gas card works.

The truth is that Silenor is too expensive and the efficacy is fair at best. There are patients who can benefit from this product, just not nearly enough to sustain a company. Intermezzo will get approved at the end of November and this will end the add-on story that so many Silenor reps are using and this another hit to the already weak market share. Silenor would be great second or third product for a company with a large sales force and deep pockets, Somaxon has neither!

Agree completely with the previous post.

This is a moderately effective drug that helps some ( up to 50% ) of the patients that use it, but it is not amazing by any means. It works for some people, not for others.

Managed care, zolpidem and sky high price along with modest efficacy have made it hard to gain traction with doctors. Also, pharmacies are still switching patients to 10mg doxepin.

Overall the future is not looking great! I really like the company and hope things work out.

Also, Changing the "double up" contest bonus is a MAJOR red flag as well.

Can't really say anything positive about taking back the double up money. Best thing to do on that is cut whoever sent the email and honor it.

The only positive thing from the double up email was the statement
about how it was not fair that the over lay reps were getting credit for
scripts they did not generate. The down side is that this company is hanging
    on by their finger nails!!!!
