Thinking of applying. What is the territory, do you get a car and what is the salary range ( 6 yrs in pharma)? How is Provenge doing-asked a Urologists and he doesn't use it. He uses Zytiga, Erleada mostly

Mgr is nice but has very little experience. About half the sales force leaves each year. Very good product but difficult to sell. If you decide to apply and have some experience you’ll probably get the position. Realistically you will move on within 2 years or much less. If you interview with the National Sales Director be sure to ask about his days as a Navy Seal.

Haven’t heard anything yet., applied last week. Not sure if asking about being in the Navy is a good thing, my ex was Air Force.

Definitely ask the National Sales Director about his Navy SEALs background. He knocks people that don't do their research and forget to ask him. It's only going to help you. As for the Florida manager- he's Urkel. Literally the nicest, dorkiest guy on the planet. Terrible manager (or great depending on your viewpoint)- known for no-notice field rides (regardless of how you are performing-good or bad), brings no value on calls, just rides along to lick the windows. But he's super nice. He's not going to do anything to help or hurt you and won't develop you in any way. But he's harmless. As for the Florida position- pretty much doesn't matter. Product is great but the environment in Florida for the product is bad. You will get sales in Q4 and Q1 and that's it. All of the Florida team has turned over within the last year. Typically no one makes it more than 2 years. Super high base, but benefits suck and variable plan is not great- especially if you have a lower volume territory- which all of the territories in Florida are. You can go well over plan in Florida and still make under target goal money. Senior leadership has no idea how to set up a comp plan. But if you need somewhere to go and hang out for a bit- if you have a pulse and any experience in oncology or urology you can get the job.

Is it legal to hire 2 new managers from the same company without interviewing any internal or external candidates? Asking for a friend.

CEO, SVP and Florida manager all recently hired from Mallincrodt, with NO urology experience and NO prostate cancer connections. Absolutely clueless about what the company’s patient even is. NO prostate cancer or Urology contact or experience in almost every level of the company now. UNREAL. The only reps left in Florida are Jacksonville and Tampa and Miami East Coast. They let everyone else go as the company is downsizing, a.k.a. on fire. It will be a blip on your résumé, not advised.
