Company going in the tank!

    Two reasons that are apparent and glaring is that the company is now being run by the CFO and then all he compliance lawyers.
    Furtaw has taken all the ability of the rep to independently price things according to market demands. Everything is required to go thru him and most of the time the answer is "no". He firmly believes the sales rep is a waste of money. Also, anytime an exception needs to be made by his group, good luck on getting a timely response. If you are lucky enough to hear back it will be many days later and after consistent followup calls and messages. He has ruined the company and the reps ability to be competitive.
    The lawyers and the compliance group has also put a damper on everything. Several have come from pharmaceutical backgrounds and apply those rules to Karl Storz. They have hindered the growth of the company and the ability to be responsive. The autonomy that used to help us better serve our customers and their needs has been stifled. Sad state of affairs.

    You think it's bad now, just wait until J&J/Stryker/Medtronic buys us. My bet is on J&J, but who knows? Frau Storz gets to leave on her terms and the CFO and his cronies get big retainers. Don't forget about all those "synergies" that will eliminate a ton of overhead. What's not to like?

    wow you are right we no longer can induce our customers. I can't wait until the DOJ does a proper investigation so Charlie and others can be held criminally responsible for the wrong doings over the past 2 decades.

    Biomet/Zimmer will acquire Storz. They have already purchased 100 video towers from Storz so they can present the full bag to the hospital and surgery centers.

    You're joking, right? After Zimmer spent a few million on 100 towers, it makes total sense to spend billions ($8b?) on Storz. Zimmer just needs an arthroscopy system and can spend a couple $100m to get it or build it. But Medtronic or J&J? Those guys needed the woman's health and Lap portfolio of Storz to compete with Stryker and Olympus. Complete overkill for Zimmer.

    in all honesty, how has the DOJ not tore this place apart? A whistle blower could easily crush $20-50 million on this.

    with all the quid pro quo that is common place and the fact every large sale has an inducement a whistle blower could easily get $50 million.

    You want me to post examples with names? Quid pro quo is and always has been the culture at Karl Storz starting at the top with Charlie.

    hopefully the announcement is KSEA self reports to the government to limit the pain that will come if you do not and a whistle blower cashes in

    Very intuitive- guess what? Furtaw is at it again! No more Rep pricing starting January. Everything will be GPO or decided by pricing office. Charlie has lost control. Furtaw is running the ship. Furtaw is on record stating that "there is no need for sales reps". Jump off while you can!

    Furtaw is a tool who hides behind the curtain. He never is available for discussion or returns calls. The guy has made it clear that he sees very little value in the sales department and treats these products like they are commodities. Has no idea what the differences are and what all goes into winning or earning business. If he did he would not make all the cut and dry stupid decisions he does. Like:-taking pricing latitude away from the field. -Placing all the hoops in the pricing system which cause big delays in response time to the customer. -Unscrupulously screwing sales representatives out of spiff $ by providing half baked and unaudited manual reports. -No transparency to
    commission reports(yes he has oversight of this). Cooking the books by playing hot potato with trade-ins to the detriment of customers and sales representative compensation.

    Furtaw is running(or is it ruining) the company. He has all the power and decision making ability. Charlie and bunch give him all authority without really discussing or understanding those that it affects. Typical big corporate stupid decision making that used to differentiate Karl Storz from the competition. Now the competition is more nimble and customers have and are realizing it.

    wow, you actually have to sell it versus being the low cost provider? We tell you to sell the value, if not you will be fired to find someone you can. FYI .. discounts are down and profit is up so I call Furtaw a genius!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    This place sucks. A shell of what it once was and no sign of the culture that made it geat. My how times and our leaders have changed. I am sad to be a part of this corrupt, political, butt kissing, no accountability piece of $&@& place. As stated, THIS COMPANY SUCKS!

    Obviously shows you are out of touch! Karl Storz has never been the low cost provider. The pricing office has taken all ability to adjust price no matter what the situation. Selling features, benefits and value doesn't get it anymore as Storz doesn't have the what the competition does. No Endoeye, no 4K, no 5mm-3d etc... Kind of hard to sell against competition on just price when you don't have the current technology. In the current environment there are times that low or lowest prices are necessary just to be able to play. If Charlie doesn't wakeup and wrest some of the power back from the pricing office he will be faced with so much loss of business recovering wont be an option.
    Definitely a management or internal post showing your ignorance!
