They MUST be bad if theyre being called out by Panera-ordering, sample dropping, 4 X a day RC-message regurgitating Pfizer rep. You best hope that we keep buying companies, my friend. If not, you'll be on the slag heap with dozens of thousands of Novo, BMS, Merck, GSK, BI, and Lilly multiple COE winners, PRAYING for that 75 a year contract job. Go take a peek at Quintiles site if you think I'm kidding.

DACA, Affirmative action, quotas, etc. Diversity, my ass. If you’re good you’re hired. Enough of this bs. Nobody owes you anything based on you color, creed, sex, or lack thereof.

Yet, Pfizer loses yet another suit and is forced to hire a more diverse team. Decade after decade, we keep losing suits. We just dont seem to get the message.

Oh---for those that believe that we used to hire and promote the best, ask anyone at HQN with more than 20 years at the company about a) the unethical losers that bragged about needing the R-gene to get promoted, and b) how R.B. and his cronies (Dee M, John M, Mary H, and more) got clipped. By clipped I mean, escorted out their building's doors. At no time did we hire/promote the best in our past. We hired Jr military officers (mostly from USMC), DII college athletes, relatives or sycophants of denizens of higher floors at HQ, and pretty bimbii from state schools in the south.

So bitch and moan about the, what....how many Latino or Asian or Black mid level managers we have here. 11, in total? Out f HOW many? Yeh, lets go back to just hiring bottom 3rd of their class West Pointers, die hard ACC and SEC football nuts (Roll Tide. WAR EAGLE!), and jocks that played for and against no-name schools.

Ahhh, the memories! Thanks for the walk down memory lane.
Pfizer was filled with egotistical, arrogant, ass-kissing idiots, legends in their own minds, narcissists, etc. etc. Steere, Katen, Birch, McKinnell, the parade went on and on.... and continues today. They created and maintained a mindless cult of robots. It stayed and continues to stay alive only by pillaging other fine companies by bribing their CEOs and boards to sell.
Pfizer could never stand on its own..... and still can't .
Two more years. That's my mantra. I hate this shithole but will be damned if I'll leave without my fat pension.

The Fortune Magazine expose on us wasn't even the tip of the iceberg. For decades, cronyism and nepotism were the two most important factors on hires and promotions. For proof, look at how few of the Old Guards cronies remain. For example, Mahoney, T.G. and crew are in their low to mid 50s and should be running the company by now. Instead, they were exposed as weak, and escorted out the door by security. T.G. is on his, what, 4th company in the past 10 years? And for awhile, Mahoney was working with she that cost us 2 Billion in DOJ fines. What a Fine lot we had at the GM position a decade ago, eh?

Yet we have people here whining about the dozen or so non-white district and regional managers we have, out of hundreds. Ironic, no?

Minorities hires via Pfizer AAP (affirmative action plan) are a failure waiting to happen.

The failure has already happened; they hired you.

Yes, but who really gives a shit, except the “minorities”who think they’re owed everything simply because they are a “ minority”. Circular reasoning is it not? Jobs SHOULD be based on qualifications, merit, etc. Jobs should be earned, not just given.

What makes you think these good people you call "minorities" think they are owed anything? Perhaps they are more qualified to do their job than you are? Maybe you are the one with the entitlement mentality.

Then why do we have affirmative action quotas, etc? Been here 21 yrs. I earned and keep my position because I performed.
Why did you get hired and are still here? And they're good people because they're " minority"?

    No!

They are good people because they are people, not "minorities," or any other label affixed to them by close-minded people. Perhaps we need quotas because people like you label others and won't hire them precisely because they are minorities, despite their qualifications. You keep your position because you performed? Perhaps you remain here because one of your buddies hired you and no other companies are interested in you? I'd be bored to tears working at the same company 21 years, but that's me.

Need a quota for dumb people. Excess to be cut!

I agree. There has always been a focus to hire minorities, but believe you need the best person for the job. I have seen minorities get hired because of quota with not so good results
Pfizer even had a minority internship program to recruit potential hires.
All people, not just minorities would love to be part of such an internship
Need to find the best people and focus should be for the minority communities to push their members to achieve excellence so they are the best choice
