    Dear Dr. MP,

Managers, NSRs and ANSRs, are leaving to go to other companies because of a few major reasons. 1) Company culture is terrible, you never asked for feedback from employees on what you can do to keep reps here. Moral is super low and you don't give reps anything to work towards. No trips for presidents club, no good prizes for contests etc. 2) Losing employees due to unrealistic goal settings. Non-24 is an orphan status disorder but you expect reps to find 5 unicorns each quarter. 3) Losing ANSRs to other companies due to paying them too little. Of course any young college graduate is going to leave for a raise in both salary and bonus. 4) Managers and Seasoned reps are not leaving due to you hiring ANSRs, they're leaving to go back to reputable companies that care about employees. 5) Unfulfilled promises, career ladder never rolled out, car issue never resolved whether it be increase in allowance, mileage, company car, no Hetlioz portal.

    Anyone else?

Sneaky liars run the company: steal money from the reps, have no morals, under-pay people, push off-label of both meds, have a 1 day meeting in DC as a "reward" for President's Club (more of a punishment), over-promise new indiciations and injectable for Fanapt for several years, hire mostly awful DMs, and have no real culture. Vanda has a horrible reputation as a crappy company with a narcissistic jerk running the show. After I resigned, 1 of my doctors actually said " I am so glad that you got out of that awful company ".

He does not care if the time we spend at Vanda is the worst experience in a career. He is just happy to have used and abused. The promises were and never will happen, just like Fanapt's bipolar indication, all lies.

Recruiters used to be confused why they have so many Vanda resumes. They understand now and as they equate Vanda to Purdue, Insys and other companies with a win by lying culture and patients mean nothing. Poly created a culture of bullied and those with a conscience left. You see who is left at C suite and VP and Director level .. just desperate fools

Never paying decent bonus. Goals unattainable so therefore no bonus. Most companies if you sell a 200,000$ drug a year you get at least 40,000 a year in bonus and way more in salary depending on state. If you sell 2 million a year and get pennies no wonder people are leaving. Let’s face it, no one would ever write Hetlioz without us! Pay people what they are bringing in at the very least.

Just curious as an outsider, why is Jen insisting that you not refer to Hetlioz as an orphan drug or non 24 as rare disease? Wasn’t that how the drug was approved?

She wanted us to keep it as vague as possible- more likely to write off label for any random sleep problem. She’s a huge reason why so many leave. Corporate needs to start looking at Sr Management as to why almost 1/2 the sales team have left. Wake the hell up.

People are leaving because of all the reasons stated above, in the 50’s just the last 2 quarter’s. It isn’t the vacation or the car per say. It is the constant abuse and unreachable goals without selling off label. Only 20 people in the company met their Hetlioz goals last year out of 115. Let’s see that says about 10 of those sell off label and so that leaves 10 people. That is why people are leaving. Because that is half your bonus. So over 80 percent of your sales force is marking no bonus to sell an overpriced medicine off label. As far as the lies, they think if they have new people they can continue the lies, like we are that stupid to continue to believe them, that new things are coming. They never do and it never favors the reps. The board of Director's, if not corrupt themselves need to get rid of all C Suite and start over. You can make the company better by treating the employees better and getting more indications and more drugs in the pipeline. Also we are all told Hetlioz is not an orphan drug and that non-24 in sighted patients is common. Ok then why do you only run Commercials for TOTALLY BLIND people? Mmm never one cockroach in the kitchen one journalist said when he wrote a story about fanapt and vanda.

To the rep with over 100 Hetlioz intakes. I hope the Feds pay your home a visit first. You are pure SCUM.

Can you list the reps name or initials and territory location that had the 100 Hetlioz intakes? Thank you

Former Account Manager here. I don’t know this guy, but I can tell you this - There is no legitimate way to generate 100 intakes for Hetlioz if you sell on label. As someone who sold Heltlioz for over four years, the specialists who treat and diagnose NON24 will tell you how rare it is to see a true free running sleep wake disorder. Many circadian specialists and sleep specialist will say that if they saw 2 cases in their entire career that would be a lot. Outside of the totally blind patient population (no light perception) it is unheard of. Selling to psychs and keeping the message as nebulous as possible so they may write for insomnia is off-label. Selling to pain specialists for opioid induced insomnia or circadian rhythm disruption is off-label. Selling to any practitioner for anything beyond the label is illegal. While the label may not say totally blind, the incidence of non24 outside of that community is close to non existent and only in very, very rare document cases. There is a reason why the public face of Hetlioz - the DTC ads state “I am totally blind.” Because the company keeps it legit publicly. That is a far cry from the VERBAL field sales coaching to “simplify the message, don’t get bogged down in the details.” I myself was coached not to say orphan or rare. Sad and illegal.

More important than posting a random reps name online would be this - if you know who the prescribers are that wrote multiple scripts, post their names. If this guy got 100 intakes I guarantee he’s got one or two big writers who wrote 20 or 30 scripts. Post those HCP names so any of the lawyers or investigators can call them directly and ask “why are you writing this and what were you told it is for?” I guarantee you they will say they thought it was for insomnia and that it was presented as a sleep med with less risk of abuse or dependency than Ambien. Bank on it.

This rep and others like him are held up as good reps but they are nothing but off label unethical reps. Poly, GP, Tom all reward misbehavior and demand the rest of the field to learn from these dirty reps. Just because Ambien is not working for a patient does not mean prescribe Hetlioz!!!! Convincing a doctor that patients have non 24 when they just have insomnia is just plain wrong but that is the coaching that Poly and GP demand and Tom and the regionals follow blindly along.

Regional meetings with sessions on selling against Ambien and Lunesta reinforced the truth behind the off label plan. Were any of us shocked that the jet lag indication was rejected by the FDA?
