device tax passed on to sales force?

in a discussion on the AAOS floor it was mentioned to me that the device tax was being "shared" with the sales force to the tune of 1% to agent. Where that 1% is passed on to the guys on the street is up to the agent I would guess.

So,,,what has been the reaction to this,,,,if it's true.

 

At Depuy 2.3% all on the rep

 

All the other companies have lowered commission rates.

 

Exactech distributors in the south have not done this. It is my understanding that they do not plan on lowering reps commission rate. I know my commission is locked through 2014.
