Like every big pharma company middle management has ruined the culture. It starts w/ Reps being promoted to soon. You know you are going to have a bad manager in the making when a rookie rep has one or two good years right out of the gate and gets promoted. That is a disaster waiting to happen. The next type is the rep after 3-4 years has a chip on his shoulder because he thinks he should have been promoted after 1 year. Regionals have a lot to do w/ this destruction to because they are the ones promoting their favorites and inexperienced reps w/ the keys to peoples lives. OLD Regionals are also horrible for the culture to because they are practicing tactics that worked in the early 90's and the business has changed so much that they are obsolete. Finally there are NO checks and balances between Regionals/ ABLs and VP level positions...so Middle Management gets free rein to wreck havoc on the sales force and VPs are kept in the dark.
Let's not for get the 15/20 year experienced rep who still thinks he is going to be a manager....hahah.. never going to happen...although they are told they are by management and given some fictitious "manager in training" title....Rep fell for it hook/line and sinker! Then they act like puds...toward their district and in about 1 year no one can stand them...
dont think it matters if you have been here 1 year or 100 ... very toxic . Probably the same most anywhere in this industry. I️ don’t think anyone knows what the future holds but if novartis does not change its ways there are enough people documenting from numbers being inmacurate to harassment ...
