The exception to that rule would be if you were a coal miner during Obama's presidency.

    Oh, I see - you're advocating SELFISHNESS. In that case, 1, 2, 3, 5.

Plus, now I don't have to worry about my daughter having to share a locker room or shower room with a man who lives under the delusion that he's a woman.

So here you are working at viiv and you have gotten used to the gays but you still can’t wrap your mind around transgender so you lash out and attempt to scapegoat them for problems that don’t even exist. Dolt.

healthcare stocks continue to slide as the threat of dems winning elections is on the horizon. I will vote for dems and support any initiative to end pharma’s choke hold on american citizen’s wallets! If successful the first thing to go will be the reps but the industry will do just fine anyway. Pharma isn’t the only problem with healthcare in Uhmerika but it has a vulgar in-your-face audacity about it. Year on year price increases with nothing to keep them in check - that is not a free market and not American. Bring it on you dumb little trump ass monkeys.

They don't exist because Trump won and stopped the madness. Dolt.

I’m sorry no one would hire you in industry. Good luck with innovation, as America is the only country supporting this for the world....

That obfuscated the earnest nature of historical latitude by the clear winner of the prior election which has become our common experience.

Than you are ignorant on how new drugs are brought to market and the cost associated with such. As a physician in HIV you should be thankful the innovation brought to you almost exclusively by the finances provided by those in US have taken HIV from a death sentence to a manageable, chronic disease in a couple decades. In addition, before throwing our industry under the bus take a look at the millions and millions of prescriptions given by us in the HIV field in the US to underprivileged countries. Other countries need to learn to help pay their fair share for the innovation they now enjoy.

as for your comment that America is the only country supporting research just remember that you work for a British company and the leading companies in pharma are French, Swiss, German, American, Japanese but they all come here to BILK the American taxpayer because our government has sold out to the special interests. Your, sir, are uniformed and stupid.

No, you are dear. Look up the percent of dollars going to research from each of the countries you mentioned versus that of the USA (as well as those you didn’t mention). Please also look up where the new product patents are registered. You are right we are foolish to fund the healthcare in the rest of the world as we do - so you aren’t as stupid as you sound. By the way, I noticed as an “HIV Specialist” you failed to mention the incredible innovation almost exclusively coming out of the USA that has taken patients from the grave to a chronic disease. You must be someone who just recently became a “specialist in HIV”

“Percent of dollars”? “Registered”. “Innovation comes almost exclusively from USA?????” No you dear little uniformed child, listen to this old goat that has cared for HIV patients for decades - pharma is the industry that goes where the money is. Research happens all over the world and then the US pays for it with unregulated drug prices. I only allow intelligent reps into my office, most of gsk is locked out.

As a new poster and in in management in ViiV, I found this post interesting. First off, it’s a matter of scale. While all the countries mentioned do participate, none do to the scale even close to that of the United States. For instance, I could say “Bolivia, Guatemala,Columbia and the United States all participate militarily in protecting the Western Hemisphere.” While a true statement (Like above), it is very misleading (like above).

In regards to the earlier comment that the first thing that needs to happen is to get rid of all drug representatives. Even in those countries practicing socialized medicine (who are also going broke, tax their people up to 80%, and send their sickest to the USA), they have drug reps. China, Canada, European countries, etc. have reps. It is your choice as a physician if you want to be in contact with those companies that invent, innovate, manufacture, and sell these products. Most of your peers choose, instead of staying misinformed or uninformed, to do so. The only people who suffer if you choose not to is your patients.

Agree with the last post. I have been in the industry as a sales rep for nearly 23 years. In that time I have noted, with a handful of exceptions, that physicians who deny pharmaceutical reps access are typically ten years behind practicing modern medicine. From diabetes care to BPH to HIV. Always two steps behind and never up to speed with their education / literature reading. Organizations ie ACOs, Kaiser, etc who also limit or discourage rep / customer engagement are the same. They place cost savings as their primary goal..then patient care. If you think differently you have your head in the sand. Where pharma has gone wrong is labeling our roles as "sales reps". We are not and should not have that as a part of our title or responsibility. We are manufacture representatives who educate! We would have a nice salary with an annual bonus based on company overall corporate performance. Our evaluations should be based on our scientific knowledge and how we communicate the benefits of our products. It's very simple but moreover, its ethical!

I think the fact that we are publicly traded companies, is part of the problem. Investors want us to “sell” not just educate.

I am a ViiV rep and find this the most laughable, comical, self serving post by a GSK/ViiV corporate in a long while.

What is true is that as ViiV TAMs we do not sell, educate, nor receive bonus for driving business. We are no more ethical than any other pharma. We just do not sell nor do anything to assist in patient care.
