Yet another office has asked for fewer reps from GSK .....This is the 7th office in 2 weeks! When will this craziness stop? If this company is so customer focused then why are we doing these providers such a disservice? They simply do not have the time or the energy to "entertain" 6 respiratory reps a week .....Enough said!

Been hearing the same thing. It is really embarassing isn't it? I walk in some major offices feeling sheepish.

We keep telling you fellows that the same thing happened in 2007. Ask around.

Trust me. Nothing like this happened in 2007. Are you retired or have you moved on???

The Industry has to be careful, at this point access is getting worse. All companies should have rules of engagement for pharma, it may seem like bombarding offices is cool, but in time more doors will close.

Doctors don't need pharma reps as much as you want to believe. The training and information is readily available. Can you name another industry where you can actively ignore the sparky grey hair and be just fine? Who needs that clown?

Most reps around then are with other companies. Try to find someone who was a rep then......especially in the Carolinas. Most jumped ship due to this same problem , along with rent-a-reps , and also rotation female managers. I was the only rep here handling a certain GSK product, and over a few months there were four of us detailing this same product to the same doctors. They were upset and when running low on samples they did not know who to call.

Its not the reps that are the problem. It is the managers and marketing! Marketing has reps calling on very specific cemented customers..relentlessly! It's overkill! Then we have a field sales manager going into the same offices with the same reps. Enough already!

If you were a rep in 2007 and are still a rep today, then you have bigger problems.

Hello GSK. I am a receptionist in a practice that has four MD's. One of several GSK reps gave me this link to look over. WOW. Most if not all of your complaints are spot on. Doctors are very busy. They are well trained and believe it or not can read and do stay abreast of new medications. We are currently, when time permits, are finding ways to stop the way too many visits and drop offs of samples. We are also talking to other physician offices and are coming up with ways to not have to deal with GSK's excessive visits that use up everyone's valuable time. There is also a news reporter who is doing a story on how drug reps take up to much time that diminishes quality time spent with patients. GSK will be highlighted. Hope everyone will eventually read the story and use more discretion on the number of visits.

The word " anonymous " brings on many wannabees. Nice try.

That's right. You are more like a cashier at McDonalds. Time for you to and "supersize" something.

Yup, we're seeing this big time. Top tier MDs getting called on by Breo rep (with manager), Anoro rep (with manager), Triple rep (with manager). Our manager feels that these MDs "like to feel important" therefore welcome the extra attention. Truth is these docs are laughing/entertained by us for now, wondering where the hell this is all going. Others within the offices, including other MDs not so amused. Pure short term idiocy, but our overly ambitious FLL doesn't see it or care, possibly because she believes that within a year she will be moving on up.

You are not a receptionist in a practice with 4 MDs , no one outside of pharma reps care about this board. But thanks for the laugh.

Worked for GSK and pharma many years and never seen the cluster we now have. No way to route to stay out of someone's way as there are many times at least 6 GSK reps per office! So if marketing is so smart why don't they figure out how to route that mess!!!! And we all have metrics. Which bright light thought this up. Why aren't they offering packages?????

They do this in cycles , wanting you to leave. That's how they thin out reps.

GSK has made everybody working a rural territory miserable trying to cover massive geographies! After the required number of reps have quit, you will hear " we have heard you and we are listening. Because we are listening to you, we are going to make territory changes that will work better for our reps." Just watch!
