What’s the story for the FRM? Good and stable position?

Good and stable are not words currently used in a sentence regarding Genentech. Run!

some of the FRMs are amazing...some not so much. It is so sad...the ones that are great are getting slowly demoralized. No one really appreciates the good ones, the smart ones. Most of the FRMs that are celebrated are just well connected. Too bad that no one recognizes the difference

Seems like that happens everywhere. Are last offs coming? Hate to jump on board and gone in 2 months. I know nobody can predict that though

This company has become a pathetic high school. It is being run by some mean girls who don't have the faculty or interest in recognizing the good people. The current so-called leaders are only concerned about their own career. They only keep the water boys and brownnosers around to inflate their ego. All the good leaders and independent thinkers are gone now. They were the ones that made Gnenentech great. If you are any good, run away from this disaster.

100 percent accurate and on point. Total biatchs and that’s being polite.

Only 1 FRM in the DFW area applied for a FRM spot in the new structure. Take from that what you will

Those of us who had been around long enough to know what Genentech was, and have the skills to go elsewhere already left. I hope you get the point. Unless you need a job really bad, stay away from this place as it will ruin your career. As other posters stated, this company has turned into a popular contest among some women and progressives who are trying so hard to give every competent person a middle finger. It is like the revenge of the nerds, except that these are mean girls and LBGTs.

I am not sure that it’s a stable position. The leadership thinks that the sales people can do the FRM job and are “upscaling them.” And by that, teaching them to ask questions and understand the payer landscape. You know, what every other company expects sales people to do

All good to know. Appreciate it. It doesn’t sound good. This whole industry is taking a hit. Job hunting at this time is hard and even if your job isn’t ideal, staying put is the best option right now.

I’m a FRM and have been happy with Genentech for almost a decade. I regret interviewing to stay instead of taking the package and would NOT advise anyone to join this company. It’s become clear they they don’t respect our knowledge or relationships and are training the TAMs to take most of our responsibilities. Leadership is arrogant enough to think we can’t see it, conversely, we are a sorry bunch that are helping them sharpen the knives they’ll drive into backs.

It doesn’t matter anymore. The drug price transparency program starts next year. Drug prices are dropping and that revenue stream is going to dry up. The Swiss are so stupid for paying these high rates for these employees. It’s astonishing. This company can be ran with less than a thousand people.

TAMS don't want those responsibilities and you know what that means.

From the outside...what does that mean? Sounding like the FRM
Job might not be around all to much longer if reps are starting to help with Reim too.

Let’s face it, most accounts don’t need FRMs. They can handle their own business. Leadership knows this which is why the TAM training is ramping up. And for the cases where patient info and industry assistance is needed, AS support will be there. Listen for the double speak as they reference the remote reimbursement support they’re building up.

Could be right. Same goes for other support roles.

years ago we reps were responsible for issues surrounding patient access. some crazy legal people put their red line on it and said...no more, so that took it off reps hands.Next up....couldnt educate our nurses, needed RNs to help educate. Problem is spread to thin but it was RN Educator responsibility. OH and then the New BAM role comes in...and just what exactly that was no one really knows. BUT we heard they will be the ones meeting with C suite people. Just ask Ohio people, Pittsburgh , Philadelphia people.
Problem was they couldn't because they needed the rep to guide them as they had NO relationships or they HAD bad relationships. LOL Just a cluster and they deserve it all....my friends who are still there, unbelievable that there are sooo many more ops out there, you are worth it they are not.

FRMs will still be needed by accounts as long as they buy & Bill and there are drug launches. Once that changes, there is no need.

The FRMs were never needed. No one received a big raise. Run away from this company. There are PLENTY of jobs out there. Only the LOSERS stayed.
