I figured by now more news would slip out. Are they selling clc or not? Line 20 is still going up. Is the fence really for construction or to block off clc from novartis.

They want to sell CLC, but surprise surprise, nobody wants to buy that dying product line any more than Novartis wants to hold onto it. The last time they shopped the business, J&J was the high bidder at around half what Novartis was asking, so they told them "no thanks." I bet they'd jump at the same figure today, but if J&J looked at the books at all, they'd run like hell.

Heard it's sold. Pharmacy will all move to Aspex and clc will stay in this side. Really expanding production line 20. Novartis will keep Aspex and clc side will be the other company. I can't remember the name of the place, but everyone e says better company than Norvatis, better benefits etc. We'll see.

lets face it not many buyers for a tired old contact lens company with too many wrinkles makeup, and way too much cheap perfume.

Why should they buy Alcon back? The Swiss are quite happy for not having this nonperforming organization with all these whining Texans in their portfolio? Not going to happen.

Unlike Novartis, Nestle was smart enough to let the "whining Texans" run Alcon themselves and sat back and accepted the several hundreds of millions of dollars every quarter.

The only whiners here are Alcon Asia.

Less and less people in tower C. Lots of empty spaces and cubicles.

    Buy low, sell high?

Not likely. They've only had AMO for 7 years. Alcon would be too much cash for all the same surgical products.

Maybe they didn't do well with surgical either and that's why they sold it to J&J.
