Worked under JF. Way better than the Gooch. JF, was an advocate for the sales team to upper management. He wanted us to be successful, make $, and have a positive QOL. Gooch, wanted us to have a capped amount of money, which in turn is counter to improved QOL and success.

Couldn't agree more with this. Frey was one hell of a weirdo, but at the end of the day he was about the reps performing and making money. Since I've been there the reps that left under Frey left because they got an amazing opportunity or just couldn't make money. Where as with Nick, people left because he capped what they could make. Not even a toss up JF was far superior as a VP

you guys make me laugh. The NG comp plan was to keep the tenured skilled reps and get rid of the bad reps low producing reps. The high performing reps stayed. You could have (1) good year under JF but then your territory was cut the next year and handed to your ASR and you were back to making the same amount as you did in year one. There was no need to have a cap under JF because no one was making over $400k a year......... You guys will be complaining next year when it's straight commission.

Seems like there's been a whole lot of pclub and people that bring in the $$ that have left since the NG comp plan was rolled out. Am I wrong?

Half. A lot of people left, who were making a good living, because they were now accountable for metal. Half of presidents club did t even know how to cover or sell metal.

Listen ... The Gooch comp plan was a total failed experiment, much like the classic example of New Coke. Nobody wanted it, and nobody was drinking this corp. folly. It was conceived from Gooch's own mind, mimicked a pharma plan, and was poorly rolled out to the sales force. Gooch did not "Sell" it to us very well, partly because he didn't connect well to the sales team. And none of us wanted it from the get go. He also didn't follow through on the promise that reps won't have territories over 2.2M. Because at a certain point it is difficult to grow business (which is how we get paid), while still managing over 2M of existing business ... W or without an ASR. That's why JF had ASR programs.

Sure a handful of reps made good money. But for the most part it was marketing Pepsi to Coca Cola drinkers.

All in all NG's failed comp plan, and the subsequent turnover in the field, helped contribute to his dismissal.
