Huff is a genius. Labcorp sales and stock price will sky rocket under his leadership.

Bill is better off not getting this at this time. PAMA and quest getting UHC Oct 2019 can only do bad things to EPS

You would think differently if he decided to show you his "pretty side". Or perhaps you wouldn't.

GH is the real deal. However, the people around him are NOT. you cant do business with the devil unless your willing to sell your own soul.

I agree, he is smart and a real leader. Don't be surprised when he makes changes in people. He not only knows what to do, he knows how and when to do it.

    Don’t hold your breath!

Labcorp is where talent goes to die. Gary may be talented (I have heard but never experienced) but will do nothing to improve outcomes or make change. We offer a service that is propped up by contracts that force patients to use us. Once these contracts go dual source Labcorp will realize that patients will go where the better service is. By then it will be too late.

It won’t be long before the Walgreens PSC initiative falls flat on its face and Gary will start to look to get out.

Didn't he just hire one of his former pinhead managers from Sostas?.

To paraphrase Carl Icahn Most leaders hire people who are just a little dumber than they are. They don't want a challenge and sooner or later the number 2 guy gets promoted. Carl's theory is LabCorp in a nutshell. Promote the guy/girl that does not challenge the status quo and who is just a little dumber than the current leader. This is how you get promoted at LabCorp and most likely why Gary has not done anything.

Walgreens is not a Gary thing. Its corporate strategy -- from dave's SVP golden boy.

This "strategy" is a knee jerk reaction to Qwest. LabCorp does not have an access problem in fact we might even have too many PSC's. The issue is that our PSC's do not maximize productivity. Many have wait time issues, horrible customer service and many of them are reminiscent of the waiting room of a Jiffy-Lube.

    Here is the fix Dave:

    Improve Customer Experience.

When dealing with increased competition and lower reimbursement rate you would think that customer experience would be the number one priority of LabCorp. We see it in most of the hospitals, insurance plans, health systems and large physician groups we work with daily... competing for clients is all about customer experience.

Customer experience is the new marketing and is what will dictate the winners and losers of the laboratory space.

In addition you need a caring Sales/service team. LCA does not have one. The pay structure is not based on performance so the reps don’t care.

Ditto on the service/ops team. It is a constant struggle to keep staff from continually quiting because we are ALWAYS understaffed and underpaid.

    understaffed = poor quality

Well a billion dollars is a lot of money to improve the fit and finish of our PSC’s across the country. It has taken a while but Gary is stepping in the right direction.

Morale is at all time low a PSC’s are disgusting. GM’s have done shit to improve these things but will take all the credit now that it is coming down from the top.
