Covidien recently acquired Barex Medical in January. Is this a decent gig? Sounds like a boring day to day job?
Saving lives, selling a differentiated technology, and pioneering a new space. That's not boring. You looking for a job as the lead singer of a rock band?
Barrx has reached its limits, expect other manufacturers to enter the space-they have been pushing their indications and have had insurance reimbursement issues in the past. they have pushed their way into smaller hospitals that don't know what their doing and thus hurting their reputation. A hard gig to find growth. Lots will come on tell you I'm lying-I don't have a dog in the hunt-just trying to save you the pain later.
I just got a call for an interview with this new division. Does anyone have any better info? I know that the base is only $55k, and $150k at plan.
What's up with this gig? I heard reps aren't making good money, very few above plan. Some good reps leaving. True?
Tech is great for a tiny tiny fraction of a tiny group of people. Growth is nearly impossible. Guessing someone sold a bill of goods to a moron buyer at Cov
The product is great. The comp plan blows...and blows hard. Got tired of working my ass off for pharmaceutical money and skated. This company will never learn.
I have a friend that works at a company with a new pill cam-when I learned Cov bought Given I told her congratulations-Cov will screwup Given so bad that her company will have a real chance at growing fast in 2014. Cov is a bunch of management looking to make themselves money-that's all- they are a Tyco rerun.
True.. They never stopped being Tyco.. Same old crap.. Worked for both versions and same policies , same agendas etc..
counterpoint - been here 3+ yrs. Last year sucked. This year should be good for most. Almost everyone well over plan thus far. I should make good money in 2014. We'll see what they do w Given, etc. I'm optimistic...
Any current updates on this Division in regards to performance/% of reps at plan/etc. From looking back it looks like '12-'13 were challenging after the acquisition. How were things in '14 and this year. Thanks in advance.
If you took this job you now know you walked into a complete shit show with no innovation, tired products, horrific upper management. Our VP is a mute.
