So while I would generally agree with your statement - biosimilars are going to come fast and furious in the next few years. Maybe you could be on the cusp of something very marketable.

There is no "sure thing" in this business anymore. Take it or leave it. There is risk either way.

Govig sent me a rejection letter. Ive been waiting for the recruiter call, and I never received it. I have to explain the termination from my previous company.if I get a face to face interview It wasn't a pretty parting as I was escorted out by police Thanks for the website info though.

    Were you in cuffs?

No but I'm a nervous wreck. I'm popping pills like tic tacs and drinking like a fish. I may sell libre for Abbott or get an assembly plant position and hope it's not outsourced or fined by FDA

I heard offers are delayed until next Thursday. Apparently there are issues getting all rep positions filled. Aug 3 still targeted as the start date. Pretty crappy. Why not just move the start date and communicate the delay?

Start date will be moved. I heard Pfizer's blessing to hire this force may be rescinded. I think the risk is not worth the return. I'm out. (He gone)

why cant they just make offers pending or contingent so we can get this over with? At least we can know if we were selected or not.

Just keep looking and interviewing and if they call you with an offer, take it or leave it. What else can you do?

Just weigh things carefully when/if an offer comes. Amgen and J&J have both said that they will get very competitive with biosimilars. They didn't expound on that but here is what I am thinking: they will take small discounts on all of their products and lock out the biosims. Hospira will have to take much larger discounts on their one product (50-75%) in order to have the same impact. At that discount, it could be tough keeping a sales force.

My thoughts are to be careful with this situation if you already have a job. Please read about the Neupogen federal court decision from a few days ago and its implication for other biosimilars. You are highly advised to educate yourself about the legal situation going on right now in the US biosimilars world.

Pfizer has downsized, downsized, and downsized some more in recent years. Just as the people that used to work at former Searle HQ in Skokie, New London Ct, Groton Ct, Ann Arbor (old Parke-Davis then Wyeth campus), Sandwich UK, and then some. It was sales forces, admin, production, R&D, everything! The numbers are out there in old press releases if you bother to look, it was over 120,000 in a few years when last I added them up. Meanwhile, the campus in Shanghai has expanded. It is happening all across the industry.

Pfizer does treat people well when they are fired, but not as well as a few years ago when the severance and benefits got scaled back. Don't panic, but don't feel smug either. Have a Plan B ready to execute. A fair number of people will be hitting the street and many will never work in pharma again, but a lot of people have found life after pharma more rewarding; just different.

So the fact is: No one has received an offer. Correct?

No offers. "In a week or so..."

From a West Coast perspective, you would only consider this job if you were unemployed. Some comments are sounding desperate. For those in a branded environment, the previous poster was correct, you will be labeled as a "generic" rep. Your only ability is to sell on price. Why does Pfizer have an internal only posting for a biosimilar NSD?

Sounds like the 3rd place finishers have been notified. Down to the top two, hiring for diversity, so mix and match to make it look "fair".

Having worked for both Pfizer and Hospira, do not take this job unless you are unemployed and desperate. Both are Truly shitty companies. You will regret joining.
Biosims are questionable entities, and will be treated and sold as generic drugs, by price alone. Don't need you to do that.

Spoke with the recruiter today. He said managers were in the meeting for the next two days to "figure things out". He said that offers will probably go out Thursday, Friday, or Monday. Sounds very sketchy to me. I have a fairly stable position now. I asked to be removed from consideration. No longer interested and don't want to potentially take someone out of the running if they don't have a job. I certainly don't know if I would of ended up the final candidate or not. The recruiter tried to talk me into staying in the pool but I just don't have a good feeling about this (and of course the recruiter wants to get paid for the fill). Good luck to everyone that interviewed.
