Glad to see Govig isn't part of this list. They handled the Rayaldee expansion without the slightest clue about what they were doing. I've heard negative things from other candidates as well who have had several dealings with them throughout their careers. They string candidates along and never tell them the base salary range. I'm still friends with a hiring manager I met who was upset that Govig wasted his time by not telling me, as a candidate, what the base was. As it turns out, the hiring manager was straightforward about the salary but Govig lied to me leading me to believe I could get a reasonable base. I had to turn down the offer even though I liked the guy. In the end, I found an alternate candidate for him without the help of Govig.

So, when I dealt with them again this time around, it didn't surprise me that they provided no direct answer on salary range. OPKO should be aware of this since it isn't clear whether it was Govig or OPKO that tip toed around the salary issue.

    Govig is a joke.

Opko Renal is a joke. That is WHY they hired Govig to recruite for them. Opko is all smoke and mirrors and no honesty. You missed a bullet. Sorry they wasted your time.

Hopefully, they only hired unemployed people that needed a job. Anyone who worked for a REAL company, will leave within 6 months.

The process of having candidates pay for airfare to fly cross country seems to be a practice more companies are doing. Only problem is they don't fly out the final candidate for an upper management okay. Nope, you still have to compete with others so you fly out with a chance you still won't get the job. Give more authority to the direct managers to hire staff then have the VP meet them through Skype or something. Everybody needs a panel to decide if you're a fit so that nobody is responsible for a hiring mistake. Guess what, the more cooks in the kitchen and the longer the hiring process, the LESS likely you are to hire the right one. Who is left? The strong candidates withdraw from the process and then you're left with those who were able to hang on long enough. Having gone through this bs with different companies I'm getting better at determining when to back out. If you want me to fly out, I better be your final candidate. If I'm there as a filler, don't waste my time and don't move me along in the process giving me hope that I have a chance. And do not expect me to keep my week/month open waiting for you.

What happened to managers that had the balls to make hiring decisions? Gone. Ten years ago I didn't need to get the thumbs up from three different managers, four co workers and a VP. The direct managers hired. Period. At least OPKO moved quickly. Some companies are using eight interviews. Eight. And now some are having you take a psych test, IQ test and another psych test? It all boils down to being afraid to hire the wrong person. Rather than looking internally for why employees leave they think they can reduce turnover by putting candidates through the ringer. What have the extended interview processes done? Other than keep people unemployed longer? If the interview gives you a glimpse of what working for the company is like then why would I join a company that disrespects my time and effort? My base salary requirement goes up an additional ten thousand for every hoop I'm expected to jump through. I start interviews expecting one base and then I'm up an additional fourty thousand by the time I reach the end. If all candidates thought this way we'd all be making more money, have lower unemployment in our industry and be content in our positions.

Employees aren't loyal anymore because companies stopped being loyal years ago. No one WANTS to jump jobs every year. They do it to ensure they stay employed. Sounds like OPKO reps are receiving job threats for not pulling off a miracle. Talented people are being blamed because someone at the top is impatient with launch results.

Both are correct. Govig is a joke right from the very top. Policy is to never give a straight answer about salary and waste your time. Opko just wastes everyone's time on all fronts.
