Anyone else hearing this? Not sure what this would look like- take over, co-promote- just hearing rumblings. Anyone else?

Only(maybe)Big Pharma company with a dedicated Antiinfective Sales team without a MRSA agent. Sounds like a good fit.

Roche could step in and take over also. They had a decent dedicated hospital sales force until Rocephin went off patent a few years back. I bet most of them are still left. They need a drug, too...soon Boniva won't be bringing in enough revenue since Fosamax went off patent. Buyout or co-promotion with them would make sense.

How about Novartis? Hospital Division there needs a "true" hospital drug to sell.

This is a one pony company with the most probable outcome being a buyout. Maybe this year. Maybe the next because Cubicin still has plenty of growth, but a larger company sales force would really maximize its potential. The big guns know this here. Hell they have the most to gain from a buyout as well. This is not rocket science.

    gideeee up pony!

Merck...what a big pharma disaster. The funny thing is that big pharma will be following small pharma's model that will be run by ex-big big pharma robots..one big circle jerk continued. Have fun while it lasts' I am!

Yes that would be great! Merck, Pfizer, BMS , Novartis, J&J why not even Amgen? Amgen of is a great example of a nice size biotech that went big pharma and now the stock is a loser. Keep the big pharma formula away from here. Leave the robots at Merck and Amgen so they can ruin another company!

You don't want that. Merck can't sell their own AI products. They just got rid of thousands and kept the ass kissers and the moms who work 2 hours a day.

The only part of Merck we received was this piece of garbage Carrie Bourdow. OMG, I was at a strategy meeting with her a few weeks back. She cannot even pronounce the names of the organisms our agents cover !!!

BTW, she just brought over another Merck castaway...Elizabeth Frey. Holy shit, so ignorant she was afraid to open her mouth at the session.

Merck must be dumping their garbage !!!

Rocephin went generic back in 2006. If anyone seriously thinks those reps. are still around selling antibiotics or even in the hospital space someone needs to have a look into their head.

You'd lose that bet.....There are no Rocephin reps left at Roche. Roche bought out Genentech and had a couple of downsizings, then severed all the Roche legacy reps that remained in 2012 when Boniva went off patent. Only a couple of the legacy Rocephin reps are left at Genentech, mostly in management. They haven't promoted in the hospital environment in almost nine years. What remains at Genentech are oncology reps, HCV, transplant, CV and allergic allergy reps selling Xolair. No anti infective sales force.

Why would anyone want to buy a company that will be losing the patent on cubicin in 2016?

Calling out people by name and pretending that you were at a generic "strategy meeting" with them? Spineless people on Café Pharma are so predictable. These people have barely been at Cubist a few months, so I'm guessing your attitude comes from knowing them at another organization. Notice how few active threads there are in the Cubist forum? People have been generally happy here (we'll see if that remains true). We are gearing up for one of the most exciting years in the company's history, why don't you go back to the Merck message board, or maybe count how many samples you have in your trunk?
