I hate asking questions like this on CP, but thought I would give it a try anyway. I saw a posting for a position in the home office at Leo and was just wondering what it was like in there. This is a Director level job. How is the culture, overall atmosphere? Any insight on MJ, the VP of sales? Appreciate any feedback.
Run as fast as you can! I would only apply if you are currently unemployed. Leo senior management is The who's who of who got laid off from other big Pharma companies and couldn't find a job anywhere else. Leo has been without a CEO for 9 months as the last one was let go... They have offered the CEO job to 2 separate candidates who both turned it DOWN... Denmark runs everything and has no idea whatsoever how to succeed in the American market... For example we are in the middle of a dermatological topical product launch (Enstilar) and we don't even have samples!!! Dermatology products are the most heavily sampled products in the industry, but since they don't sample in Denmark, they decided not to sample here and they wonder why we can't hit the goals. To top it off we have the worst managed care team ever! When you question coverage of our products on plans they tell us we have coverage on, they try to blame it on the pharmacy or they say "must be a carve out." This place is truly pathetic and is most likely due for a layoff as some reps don't even sell enough scripts to cover their own costs.... ROAR!
WOW. I am the OP and that is pretty consistent feedback. I do have a few people I know that work there, and they pretty much said the same things. I'm thinking this is not really the place to be. Thanks all. At least it was worth a try.
Yes, the new CEO used to work for a Pharma company based out of Moscow (R-Pharm). I am sure he knows how to navigate the American managed care market. Lol
