both...was a good gig 2 years ago. Great money but patients dried up and Shires big pharma metric driven culture accelerated the first reps to get out.
Thanks, I read some of the others postings. Very sad, turning biotechnology into pharma is a joke. Biotechnology is successful when they hire good people, just leave them alone. Ride along with them to see what? Them working? Report you saw a provider for what reason?
Wow the ignorance is mind blowing. do you even have a clue what biotechnology is? it is physically impossible to turn biotechnology into pharma. god people are stupid
What are you talking about? Being a Biotech company is about the culture as much as it is the product. Sales don't grow by reach and frequency, call metrics and fear from senior leadership. That's what is being attempted. These are not small molecules/chemical products.
I highly recommend this opportunity - - - great product, management, and company. If your highly qualified, the Shire family is for you! God Bless!!
NPS' carefully selected sales force produced successful Launch in 2015 -- great, great sales leadership but in 2016 Shire most definitely forced big pharma approach with Q3 expansion followed by a further expansion in Q4 thinking more boots on the ground would save them...NOT!! Under budget 3 quarters in a row. Shire remains in constant hiring mode to fill positions as launch team leaves to return to rare disease sell and new hires learn reality is not what is presented in the interview. More than 80% turnover in 6 months. The only people making money past 6 months are the recruiting agencies.
This attached post is very accurate. 90% of the sales force are NOT making bonus. Specialty Pharmacies have stocked their shelves for the year. This is a glorified primary care run. Even management has told their sales teams count only on your $10k training bonus bc most you will not be making bonus. Morale is in the toliet. Everyday it seems like another one leaves but you won't know that bc there is no leaderboard since mid March to see the vacancies. Shire has gone big pharma instead of realising the value of rare disease sales processes and approach. It was great while it all lasted. NPS was great. Those days are long gone. Really sad.
