Should I tell HR or just leave it be?

The Area VP is married with 3 kids and the rep is single.

 

If you're the rep the VP slept with, who do you think the HR folks will protect? Get a settlement and run.

If you're not either of the involved parties, there's no upside for you to get involved. HR will protect the bigwig (at worst, there have been cases of corporate leaders getting canned for improper behavior, but I'll bet you lunch that a nice parting gift was in the deal). And you're going to be tagged as a tattle-tale, with a nice big target on your back the next time the corporate axe-catching contest is played.

 

Why do you care and why is it your business?

 

This happens more than you know in our industry. It is called "working your way up the corporate ladder". She is actually on of the smarter women in the industry. She or he was just sloppy and got caught either leaving their cells laying around for the "wife" or "husband" to see (dumbass didn't protect himself) or (let people see them going into or out of rooms together) or (made voicemail call from her or his company paid room and then had his wife do the expense, again how stupid) but in the end she will have the job security. She can claim she was sexually harassed or forced to do things for her job...and if they remain together she will have it made...promotions, extra time off, raises, you name it...kudos to her. I just hope for her he is a performer, nice looking, nice build, smells good. Trying putting up with the opposite for 2-3 years. Man boobs, scabs, skid mark man (must not wipe too good), can't perform (that turned to be a good thing), heavy drinker, again a good thing in my case...you get the PICTURE!!!

 

Yeah, but what about their families? There is so much more to it!

 

They don't think about those things until its too late. They think they will never get caught and some don't. Then those that do either suffer and lose more then they ever realized. Their home, their spouse, their kids, some even lose their career and it haunts them and it follows them because people know about it and they talk. The big losers are the innocent children who lose the parent and if their old enough to know whats going on they are disgusted and may never want them in their life again. You should all stop thinking of yourselves. If your that unhappy, get a divorce so you can at least keep your kids in your life.

 

it is amazing that men just are not smart enough to jerk off when they are horny in these situations...

This happens too much. I know a rep at Genzyme slept with few guys in industry and out industry and shes married, 2 kids, and husband leader at GSK. Sad and true and end result to save marriage for the children. Sad life to live!

 

Yep, its happens more then you know...VP's sleep with Regionals, Sr. Vp's, sleep with DM's they promote...and so on and so on...

You'd better be able to PROVE it. Not innunedo, but proof. Pictures would be nice.

You wouldn't get your job back (and you probably wouldn't want it), but it might be worth a nice settlement if you have a mean enough lawyer.

Move on is probably the best policy. Don't expect "The Man" to worry about the little guy in the trenches; at best, you're a bit more important than some machine in the factory.
