Look for Sanofi to throw the towel in. The first time they get some competitive heat they collapse like a cardboard lawn chair. Sanofi can't do anything right . Look what they did with Praluent. Great drug with poor management support. Management kicked the shit out of field sales for close to 5 years. As soon as Praluent started to win the battle with numerous corporate blunders( price, poor managed care strategy) reps outnumbered by Amgen on average 7-2 across the nation Sanofi and Regeneron held up the white flag. The white flag is the national flag in France. Praluent had record sales 4th quarter of 2019 and further broken that record in 1st quarter of 2020. The incompetence of management and RD's was widespread. What a waste. Praluent was and is still an amazing drug. Sanofi will be out of the diabetes by year end. As soon as Hudson eliminated all research in cardiology and diabetes that was the first sign. This announcement will come in the Sanofi tradition of Thanksgiving to Christmas time period. Count on that!!
