My company has am unlimited promotional budget used to pay for lunches, breakfasts, snacks for offices when calling on them. The company has given us an unlimited budget (meaning there is no cap on the amount we can spend on these offices.) They now stack rank the reps each week on how much money they spend on the offices they call on and how many food oriented calls a rep can make. Big spenders are rewarded through contests and low spenders are spoken to and maybe even given a letter to improve their spending on offices where they are promoting products. Same with speaker programs. They want reps to do as many speaker programs as they can get scheduled and they stack rank them weekly as well. Feels like being forced to buy business. Is this legal, ethical, etc??
