THIS IS GREAT NEWS!!! HOPEFULLY THIS WILL SPEED UP THE DOWNTREND OF SOMAXON STOCK TO ZERO!!! Will hopefully happen by February. Thanks for screwing your salesforce, payback is a Bi$%h!
WTF is somaxon and surely you cant be worried about intermezzo. Purdue will mark at a premium price, no managed care as heimie refuses to negotiate contracts. great chemical, but lame indication and not to mention that zolpidem is generic in IR and CR forms. If I was Doc and I actually did by into the indication idea, i would probably write it, then switch to generic 5mg and tell pt to break in 1/2 and let it dissolve under the tongue. Of course some will bitch about the taste but hell, most people can tolerate 30-60 seconds of a bitter taste to save a butt load of $$$. I am curious to see what Purdue wll price it at, but it will be expensive as Purdue is relying on its ELITE sales force to create a new indication.
I may get criticized for this, but I am going to state my opinion. I think the approval of intermezzo could be a good thing for Somaxon. Competition is always good. Maybe intermezzo will divert the physician's attention away from doxepin, when we are discussing Silenor. I think it is a positive thing to have a branded drug come to the market. We all know how much we compete with all of the generics out there.
guys...I hate to say this....of course most I'm sure will agree...Drs for the most part thought Silenor was a joke...So many better agents to choose from with better coverage or at least a co pay card that made more sense...Silenor was doomed from the beginning.
The fact that you're even contemplating ANYTHING could be good for Somaxon is a bit sad. This company was run into the ground by incompetent executive management (there was more turnover in-house than out in the field). They didn't have enough capital to stand behind the company they created. Now that they've demolished the sales force, good luck even maintaining the volume you had - and forget trying to grow it. If they think 30 reps nationally can maintain what the sales force was producing, then that's all the proof you need of how delusional they are. This isn't a product that "sells itself" or would get any type of traction from DTC, prescribers wrote because we asked them to. Doesn't matter that it works, there are easier options for patients. I am embarrassed that they have to be mentioned on my resume...they weren't worth our talent and hard work.
couldnt agree more. 80% of the scripts from my territory were from the relationships I had in place from my previous employment. most of the scripts would be 10mg doxepin if it wasnt for the reps. Management was able to destroy this company in 18 months!!!! Might be a new record.
Upper management, composed of bean-counters,lawyers,never been in the field personnel, etc.,are totally oblivious to the value of rapport and relationships! Their ignorance is seen across the board! When I entered pharma, everyone worked their way up the ladder, starting with experience in the field. The downfall of pharma is these dopes at the top!
I am really curious how none of you foresaw this happening? Did any of you do research before you interviewed with PSS or did you just hope for the best? It is too bad that so many of you took a quick fix without thinking about where it would get you. Too bad. So sad. See what other companies think of that decision when you have to explain it on your resume (or when they complete their background check).
What an arrogant comment. Do you realize that most of us were laid off, unemployed prior to getting the PSS opportunity.
Most companies are understanding with all that is surrounding all industries. Job for 8 months to 13 months is better than having no job on your resume for that same time period.
Yeah, see what other companies think...you're a complete ignorant. 14 months of employment with Somaxon I can show that I outsold the majority of the nation and region in a generic driven market. I sold a crap, repackaged generic drug and did well at it until the piece of crap company folded. So I think it looks quite good on my resume. Probably why I've already found another job. How about you chief?
Maybe but I am a 13 year old girl STILL employed here........LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Wow, what a feather in your cap. I'm still employed here but don't consider it my crowning achievement. Get a life loser and wake up...
I don't either but just wanted to rub it in your face that you got canned even though you are the best pharma sales person in the history of the industry. How's that bruised little ego kido??
