Is anybody else nervous? I know they say everything is good but the longer this goes on...Do they really need this many reps in the field when this is over?

We are hiring and headed to amazing market share growth.

How sustainable is that? Because if we are expanding BI is not sustainable with our pipeline.

With the new more contagious strain of Covid circulating in England, we are not coming out of this anytime soon and that is bound to have an effect on jobs. Thankfully the Pfizer and Moderna vaccines can be changed fairly easily for mutations, but it would still take some time to make the new doses and deploy them. I just don't know what will happen. Most of the reps I know are really struggling with how things are right now.

The BioNTech and Moderna vaccines don’t need any modification. One is injected with mRNA that produces a spike protein and trains the body to recognize and destroy it. The virus is a RNA virus. It may mutate but it still needs to produce a spike protein to infiltrate at a cellular level. The AZ vaccine is garbage and may not be able to account for mutations.

It is very cool technology and I hope that your description is accurate. I was listening to a scientist in an interview who said it wouldn't take much to alter and use for a mutation which I took as some time lag at all, but I didn't read anything beyond that interview. It is a great vaccine for sure. The woman who headed the Moderna team is just 35! It is very exciting to see smart young people. (I am old)

she’s only 35? Is she hot? Does she landscape areas? These are important things to consider.

And does she go A2M? Doubtful but always a pleasant surprise when it does happen.

Not really...Believe it or not if this crazy situation has proven anything it is that a rep face to face brings a lot of value. Everybody knows the virtual thing does not work. The salesforces at BI account for what? 3 billion in sales? Having us sit around a few months is a pittance in the long term. Enjoy the down time and hopefully we will be back in the field sooner rather than later.
Think about this: Today one of my Docs was going to get vaccine at local hospital. So all HCP will be vaccinated by end of January very latest? Should start to open up doors for us soon.

Exactly- and HSBS along with the therapeutic specialists will unleash hot fury in the upcoming months.

First to be realist here. It's simple math, less expensive to keep sales force on "retainer" than disband, payout packages, etc. etc. etc.

Agree, but you are assuming things will go back the same
Facts: J and J not promoting Invokana
    AZ decreased sales force significantly
    plus combined resp and dm
    Novo decreased sales force significantly

It never makes me feel confident when my are downsizing.

Glad you feel confident but I would have a strong savings for a buffer

yep there's definitely cognitive dissidents all around us and YES we've been preprogrammed for years to march forward with a different life.

dissidents? Hey dumb ass, quit trying to sound smarter than you are. It’s ‘dissonance’ you 3rd grader. Take your GED-level education and go back to your job of dropping samples and trying to schedule Zoom calls with customers.

So what if I didn't know the term! I'm a professional! I bring value to my customers!...I did like five real virtual calls last month and spoke to maybe three HCPs as they waved during my lunch presentation to the girl at the front desk. You offend me with your assumptions!
