Is Gilead considered Biotech or Pharma?

Anyone know?

 

pharma mostly since biotech is usually an injectable with some genetic engineering in the molecule. one could argue that the hiv side is biotech while the cardio side is pharma, however despite both being pill forms.

 

It is definitely Biotech. I would never work for pharma again. When people ask me where I work, I tell them I work for a Biotech firm, it feels so much better. Is that why you ask? Are you as vain as me?

 

We are BIG Pharma with a smaller sales force. We are not a real Biotechnology company. Our business model is pharma all the way. Say what you want to make yourself feel better, all of our product line is pharmaceuticals. So if your trying to shake the stigma of a "Pharma Drug rep" your not... Get over it.

 

HIV is NOT Biotech. Does BMS, Tibo and other HIV companies consider themselves Biotech? NO they do not, so you are not....sorry, Genentech was a real Biotech Co. Not Gilead.
