Any update on MAKO? Are you placing a lot of units? Are there increasing numbers of procedures being performed on them? Are surgeons embracing the technology? Haven't heard much from the field lately on this.

Stryker Rep here, wish Stryker could keep their receipt too. More money for marketing, bonuses and NSM.

You are a fucking r*****. Clearly you are not in capital. There are some installs that take years. Hospitals want to max out their budget because of a surplus or so they don’t get cut the following year. You sound like you sell disposables. Capital takes months and years to install. Quit acting like you know shit and get back to selling fuck boy light handle covers

heard of a dr down in Florida who bought three mako’s and leases then out to hospitals where he does his cases. Double dipping for the lease and the $ per case. Pretty ingenious idea. Stryker should have never bought mako. Most orthopods don’t want this technology and it’s only complicated things. The OR is stuck in its way unless something revolutionary comes out- Intutitive is the real game changer. Mako is just so Stryker can dip it’s big thick juicy d in the robotic industry and try to recoup the keeeesh it spent on buying Mako.

Sounds like someone who hasn't been able to compete again MAKO to me. Got 4 competitive conversions last year from MAKO. Say what you want, it can convert business. It's not for every doctor but all of the stuff we have to offer surgeons now, there's no reason you can't convert business now a days

You are a dope. Mako has been a tremendous revenue for Stryker. You live in your own little world and think that is the entire company. Go sterilize a set, case cover boy. Mako has been awesome in my region.

Why would it matter? Depuy has the robot put the knee in, so the tibia tray can still fall out? Smoke and mirrors. Oh look! They also have a $45k impact gun to put hip stems in! Game changers? Not so much...

Two major insurance providers in our area have stated they will no longer reimburse for CT scans for robotics and patient specific custom blocks. Just had a hospital back out of a Mako purchase they don’t want to eat the $800 for a ct scan on top of the disposables for doing the cases.

What area is that? And, since when are CT scans 800 bucks? More like 300. What if patients paid...deductibles are met all the time with out of pocket expenses...I don’t see them having an issue to pay for Mr. Roboto to do their surgery.

Patients won’t pay extra in our area. Our hospital has always viewed the CT as an extra revenue stream when they were getting reimbursed. I’ve heard the insurance companies are paying closer to $400-500 and the out of pocket people are getting hit with $800-1,000.

HUGE ISSUE in our area. Patients freaking out at doctors for these unexpected bills.
