I just got contacted about a sales position. Territory, perks, and pay seem appealing. How is this company to work for? How has the industry accepted this technology? Non- recruiter realistic income? Typical day? Thanks
Ask them if they have Blues contracts in your territory. Chances are now VERY GOOD that they do not. Can't sell a service without insurance coverage. Blues are avoiding Calloway, Ameritox, and Millennium like the plague, and all 3 labs have been desperately trying to get contracts, given the change in Blues claim filing rules. Used to be Millennium and the others could bill through one Blues plan (like the one in CA) for all Blues claims. No more, as of October 14th. Speaking as a Blues person who gets those desperate calls, it's been really sad, but I don't feel sorry for them. They do a lot of unnecessary testing, and the legit testing can easily be performed - at a much lower cost - by Quest or LabCorp. In addition, Millennium tries to convince physicians that they can make a ton of money off the insurance companies by partnering with them and engaging in some really shady billing practices. Fortunately, few physicians in our area have tied themselves to these guys, and now that we're refusing to contract with ML, there'll be even less. Run, run, run from any of these drug screening labs - their days are numbered, and the health care system is all the better for it...
So the Blues person advocates the price fixing by LabCorp and Quest under federal investigation rather than competition. It figures since the Blues need to be audited as crooks
No price fixing, just LabQuest charges a reasonable price. So charging patients hundreds of dollars for unnecessary testing when insurance does not cover is ok? Rep telling doc then doc telling patient no to pay cause lab will write it off is ok too?
