Karl Storz scraps sales compensation plan to protect operations personnel

Yesterday, Karl Storz’s executive Committee announced the decision to abandon its once heralded sales compensation plan in a desperate attempt to protect the salary’s of its operations personnel. The action, effectively, makes all its employees now salaried or hourly and shifting to a quarter over quarter management style. All previous revenue gains or losses within the sales departments have been frozen as the company shifts to a quarterly commission structure. An anonymous source states, “keeping the previously established quotas intact during a 100 year pandemic while shifting to quarterly P & L management indicates the company’s dire financial position”.

Another decision to appease the non producers to the detriment of those that generate most of the company’s revenue.

Is this in any way surprising when Patrick is running the company? Everything related to the sales force has to go through PF. He and the EC all think the salesmen/women are overpaid. Sales Compensation is only going to get worse said it has since he came aboard.
