I hear there is great conflict internally on what is the best path forward since the merger. No surprise here since indecision and poor decisions seems to be their MO.

You have two people running the operation from Toronto, with manufacturing in Southern California. Customer service is out of Virginia and now the new headquarters will be in Massachusetts. Not exactly an efficient consolidated operation. All this to sell $3 mil a year in implants. Now they buy a marginal implant operation sells only licensed products, no exclusives.
Not sure what the thought behind this is.

Makes no sense and will not be successful.

Why would these two companies merge? It sounds like they are both losers.

Interesting reading the comments over the past few weeks. Financially this deal could make sense....Southern has grown to be a significant role player with proprietary implants and had broken the red ink barrier - Keystone has maintained a relatively large volume of biomaterial and implant sales but had inexperienced dental industry management, and thus, errors were made strategically over the past couple of years. With the merger, experience management, cost control, scale through combined volumes, and a complete range of niche and standard implants....looking forward to see if it succeeds.

This must have been written by one of the new management team of this dog. Everyone in the industry, outside of Keystone, reads this the same way: "Zero plus zero equals zero".

Neither one of these companies has much to offer , and neither one has had any momentum in a forward direction. Its like cheering on the Tampa Bay Buccaneers when they wore their classic orange uniforms- a foundering ship, without gas, headed nowhere.

The losses in sales at Keystone have been legendary. The laid off reps, managers, executives, closed territories, sending off of old products to die in internet sales... Come on. Now they bring in a team who has led a nameless company to a position of "who?"

I disagree with you on this one. This deal has "doomed to failure" written all over it. Let the patient go in peace.

The management team of this combined company has limited implant experience. Limited in that they ran Innova implants which eventually was sold to Sybron. Innova was never a major player in the implant business and it operated at a time when there was limited competition in the implant world. They were one of a very niche players that didn't compete directly with the Nobels and Straumans of the world. On the other hand now you have well funded Korean companies and low priced players like implant direct. I don't see what will differentiate this operation from the rest and the management and sales team are defiitely not top notch.

Southern has just launched in the US as a stand-alone brand, leaving Keystone wondering WTF. Many Keystone reps have jumped to the new company. Time to sell your Keystone stock.

Keystone has lost all of their top reps to the new Southern Implants and are very rapidly losing all of their Southern accounts even faster! The only thing they will have left to sell Will be the genesis implant that had massive amounts of failures, the proprietary prima implant that they sold mostly to Pacific dental services and lost that account to Znobel years ago because they put Keystone buffoons in charge of it and bone grafting that they sell for dirt cheap because it's nothing special. Sinking ship, I give them a year till they fold.......
