Bets that another lay off will happen in about 9-10 months?

Yes, let's pull more 6 figure-salaried jobs from the U.S. economy. Nice! Maybe we can have a big fat recession next year or a global economic collapse by 2020. Pharma is doing it's part as it sheds more jobs every year than it adds.

It will be an annual event.

The tealeaves say that we will enter an era of "rolling layoffs..." Not just an annual event, but a constant process.

They're not organized enough for layoffs that soon. Weren't they still figuring things out last minute this time?

Lessons learned. NNI is just another two bit pharma operation in America. Layoffs are here to stay.

Been like that for years now. No one is surprised anymore.

I bet YES. Of course layoffs will occur again. It's not a matter of structure of the salesforce that is the problem. Novo will continue to shuffle people, lay off people, looking for the all magic formula that is the correct business model. The real answer is lower the price of your damned drugs. Get them covered by all insurance carriers - then bam, your people will be able to sell the stuff.

This is perhaps the dumbest comment ever posted on cafe pharma!!

amgen just did that with repatha. Cut the price by 60 percent! Now the Plans will cover it!

And now they need to drive 60% more volume just to break even. Good luck with that.

I learned in marketing 101 about the "quick nickel vs the slow dime" theory. Get less profit but make more money by selling more. Think of a Rolls Royce dealership in Hazard KY. Only needs to sell one to make a nice profit. But switch to selling Fords and he will sell far more Ford F-150s and make far more money. Most branded drugs have a nice profit margin; reducing that can help the company sell more. Repatha will do just fine.
