What a day. Kay V gone. Stephanie K gone. Aubrey and Cliff gone. Many long time people.

It sure feels like the Titanic.
I bet LinkedIn will see a mad rush of activity. From those let go and those hanging on to the railings.

They will be major if the Monsanto deal goes through. Apparently WB does not have faith that a Pharma company has a future.

Investors now do not know what Bayer is? Conglomerates are dead.

Germany has wanted to get out of Pharma in the U.S. For a long time. The top execs are disgruntled by the prevelance of lawsuits in this country. There isn't the same liability, cost of doing business, in other countries. Germany has been barely supporting the US and rumor is at some point in the near future they'll sell off the pharma division. Bayer was for all practical purposes out of pharma in the US, until they dipped their toe back in the water by buying Berlex in 2007.

And the annual layoffs/restructuring started only 2 years later!

No doubt Essure, Mirena and DRSP reinforced their opinion of the US marketplace and operating environment.

Please don't put Essure and Mirena in the same sentence.
