Was told in confidence layoffs are coming. With Sola gone & Strattera with 6 months left Cialis can't support a full PC team. Eta Q1 or Q2.

With Eva and Sola failing, the company is in bad state. Terrible group of executives led by DR

Dave R has lots of experiencing downsizing in Biomeds, so no surprise a reduction is coming again.

For all of you that have stay around Lilly you deserve what you get. You should have been getting out of there 5 years ago. That company has been evil and with the latest news of yet another failed drug that won't make it to market. How many of those has it been now 4 or 5. You can't keep raising prices to keep the company afloat for every. I'm guessing we could use the old saying stick a fork in them as they are done. Shut the doors and close up shop now.

No layoffs will be necessary. Our leadership team will dream up another carrot for those gullible stockholders to chase for another 5 to 10 years. It has always worked before. No reason to believe it won't work again.

No layoffs necessary because all FDEs are getting their asses kicked out.

How many FDE's are there currently? I do not believe any. Do not be delusional and update your resume.

I would say about 15% of the entire US workforce at Lilly is FDEs which seems to be right on target for layoffs.

The Amyvid group didn't do anything anyway. What have they done to help? Bye, bye, bye LOSERS!

This mornings Indy Star carried a story saying Lilly may have to consider layoffs after the Sola failure. If history is anything to go by, the decision has already been made. The only difference this time around is the public heads-up. It's close to Christmas, so the timing is typical for Lilly, and I would expect a Friday announcement sometime. The cynic in me says the worker bees will be chopped while managers are retained, because they do such a good job in managing the company and "we need to retain the talent" . I speak from experience, having been axed in one of the "quiet" lay-offs. Of course, I could be completely wrong, wouldn't be the first time.

Other tricks from the historical playbook are skipping or reducing annual pay increases, reduced annual bonus, requiring "coach" travel for all international business trips, reducing the savings plan match, lower monetary recognition programs, enforcing delayed replacement of any open positions. This impacts the masses of workers.

Then watch to see if there is an annual leadership conference or where component / functional conferences take place? If all workers sacrifice parts of their compensation / benefits, then management must do their fare share as well.

If there are layoffs, they will likely be announced on December 15, when the company plans to announce 2017 financial guidance and update its 2016 financials.

I am sorry to hear. I worked for Lilly for 9 years. Decided to make my departure 2 years ago. Our whole industry is rapidly making all of us at risk for this type of thing. Most of you will land in a good spot. Change is inevitable and for all those jerks who say you were dumb for staying are trolls. The Lilly experience for me was great and if you can string together some years you stand a chance of building something for you and your family. I went through the neuro realignment where most of the country was let go including field sales, managers, and directors. Those that were kept became biomeds and diabetes folks. Don't listen to the negatives. It's an industry thing and remember that as you take your next step! If you were a decent rep you will be a great rep somewhere else. And just for balance, if you were a useless rep at Lilly you will be useless anywhere. Step it up.

    Regards,
    Effin

perhaps Trump/Pence can talk with CEO and save the jobs. All you have to do is agree to $15-25/hr
reasonable isn't it? That's enough to shop at Walmart

Any news regarding staff reductions for non-sales employees, such as marketing, corporate functions, etc? Last time the company went through major belt tightening, a reduction target of 30% was established. This was done in conjunction with restructuring / redefining jobs. If more than 30% of a role was changed, then all incumbants had to post for the "new" roles. Entire groups were placed on reallocation. For those employees that were retirement eligible, it was likely winning the jackpot. Take 18 months severance, then get a pension and retiree health insurance.
