Ann Gugino is a very high level leader in the financial world. We are lucky to have her. Discuss.

Is this a serious question? Our stock is down 14% since November. She may be able to charm people in MN but her guidance isn't exactly making stockholders any money and if you work at Patterson your a stock holder. I realize its not all her but the FSS division is a trainwreck and no matter how "nice" or "smart" she is, it amounts to nothing when I look at the way our company is being run overall. Lets look at things shall we. Anderson the day after the qtrly earnings report came out and said we have to cut expenses, if you travel, stay as inexpensive as possible, eat as cheaply as possible, " the next 6 months are going to be a real test for our people blah blah blah" etc... They're not going to hire (unless its in MN and its another VP) to save money. If we're put on "rations" so to speak out in the field then how good of a financial guru is she? I mean lets look at this, if we have to watch our pennies then whats she doing? Whats her team of people doing there in MN? I guess one could say she's awesome, she's made a ton of money here at Patterson, last I checked several million dollars. But thats not the issue. If we want to discuss leadership then we need to start with those actually leading the company, Anderson and Misiak.

Where are they leading it? Any way to maximize shareholder value. One way is straight into a private equity buy out and breakup. Patterson is 53% vet and 47% dental. Madison Dearborn buys Patterson at a significant premium to "unlock value". Vet and dental are broken out. Vet sold off and dental sold off. Shareholders enjoy a significant gain.

is that just speculation or the beginning of the next rumor? Either way she's not the rockstar everyone believes her to be. Just like the rest. Promoted too fast to the wrong positions. Period. Real leadership listens to the field, these guys including her haven't heard what's being said from the field in a decade or more. Cue the responses that she hasn't been with Patterson that long... It's irrelevant, she has a responsibility like the rest to understand the company as it is today not as it was or as they'd like it to be. They're all living in fantasy land and that's why we're in financial distress. But hey she's a high level leader in the financial world, where Wonderland? Oz?

She's a nice person, personally it makes me sick to look at her and Anderson making their millions while the people in the field are getting CUT. Bonuses cut, sales reps cut, stock cut. But they still made their millions. Maybe they are striking some kind of deal that will benefit us all. We all know if it benefits them we will benefit.

From a business leadership standpoint, she is a total waste of skin who's risen well above her level of competence.

No matter how much Botox she's injected into those rosy red lips, her poor performance overshadows anything positive you could say about her.

That goes for Anderson and all of his choices within his inner circle. The company has been circling the shitter for so long and it's time to hold the handle down long enough to get rid of it. Please let someone decent buy us!

On what planet do they care about those in the field. Anderson/Gugino/Misiak/Rogan will cut a deal that makes them money. The only way he and his cronies deals will make you money is if you have a significant amount of stock in Patterson. And if you still do, your a fool. They'll cut deals that make themselves lots of money and the rest of be dammed. She's risen beyond her level of competence as the previous poster mentioned as has the entire leadership team in MN and many of the regional "presidents" have too. If Patterson is sold, it's going to be to a competing entity and after the golden parachutes there won't be much left if any for the rest.

Who would buy them at premium with dental margins going down and shrinking market share? With all the names being trown around like MCK, Johnson & Johnson, Amazon etc nothing materialized so far.
May be as mentioned before to brake apart and sell vet and dental separately.

Amazon is the only one that makes sense in a hypothetical sale of the dental division. They want in, Patterson is in. Vet can be its own company still. Spinning off the Dental division makes the most sense. But then again when do Anderson and the gang make sense these days.

Great leadership there Ann... Way to go.

"PDCO's management's recent stumble with respect to its most recent earnings report makes us hesitate in recommending the company's shares as a standalone company, but strengthens our belief in the company as a takeover target whereby new management puts the company on course to more consistent revenue/earnings growth."

Why would Amazon lower themselves to buy us? I may sound jaded, but after 8 years with this company it's easy to see the rot at the core of thiis mess and any kind of due diligence would easily uncover that.

There's a hapless leadership team and the trickle down effect is that you have terrible morale where it counts...in front of the customer! Amazon wouldn't need to pay a premium, startup tomorrow and anyone decent would leave this disaster in a heartbeat.

They wouldn't be paying a premium, the way the current management team is running things they'd screw up any potential deals there too, no worries about Amazon buying us, they'll be able to pick up the scraps when the current "leadership" is through with us...
