Omg Gennett! His impact still being felt in organization . All his cigar stooges who never smoked a cigar in their lives until they were around Gennett. Gennett was gifted to his role and Hanjorg did a multi- million dollar donation to Harvard and for Harvard awarding Gennett an honorary MBA was total BS. JnJ over spent on Synthes. Its that simple and trauma wasn't a commodity business. Severing AO relationships was the kiss of death. Well done Rick.. your legacy continues.

Yes, Rickys Harvard honorary MBA is a joke as is HJW’s honorary Doctorate. The lost AO relationship is on JNJ. JNJ saw the AO cost and thought it was an easy cut, it didn’t occur to them it would impact the top line so much, primarily because they didn’t listen to Synthes leadership.

Ortho is still highly profitable. It's just losing market share. Despite price reductions the products still are printing money with a 70+% Gross Profit. Bad for immediate stock price but great for cash flow to fund Pharma acquisitions.

Very true. Ortho is highly profitable and contributes a lot of cash for JNJ. It’s just not as profitable as JNJ expected when they did due diligence prior to the acquisition, so Ortho is viewed as a disappointing.

Ortho might be profitable, but spine is a real dumpster fire.....oh and wait, they want to try to rebuild CMF! They can’t get out of their own way! Folks keep leaving in droves....soon the only “sales” reps will be quintiles idiots.

So was Juan Jose Gonzalez fired or did he leave on his own accord?

    Fired.

He may have been offered a lesser role within JNJ since at one time he was considered a golden boy, but they knew he wouldn't take it. Talent didn't come close to measuring up to his ego.

I remember when he started. Absolutely clueless and non impressive. Was king of the 4.0 cannulated screws. Running his sets around with a low quota and making him think he was a genius.

Feels good not to have to go to cases with these morons and watch them put some screws in an ankle.
