Hearing a lot of discord from the big new hire group. Sounds like many are on the verge of leaving. We are going to see some turnover in the near future if things don't get better.

What are they complaining about? We have a great drug that is launching with unprecedented formulary coverage. We are THE leader by far in Immunology especially in the Rheumatology space.

If they don't like it they can go work for the "B" team- Novartis or Celgene or the "C" team Lilly. Honestly you couldn't be in a better place to succeed than here. Novartis just lost head to head vs. Humira and the more people use it the more they see it not working well over time, Celgene is getting laid off once Amgen gets Otezla. Enbrel is a dead drug with nothing going for it. Remicade imposters no one uses unless they are infusion whores. And the Lilly portfolio is downright embarrassing. After that you got D level companies like UCB that can't get anything going or bone health companies like Radius that have bottom of the barrel reps.

    Millennials these days...

They won't leave because of the products. They will leave because of leadership, environment and culture.

They are all leaving because they arn't being treated like the special snowflakes they are. They are also mad that you aren't handing out trophies at each meeting for just showing up! And they are further upset because they've been there a month now and haven't been promoted yet!

They'll leave because they were sold a culture in their interviews that no longer exists. They'll leave because they realize how unappreciated the reps in this division are. They'll leave because they were given unrealistic launch goals, will make pitiful launch bonuses, all because no one higher up wants to admit they grossly overshot the market. PS...this wasn't written by a millennial.

Go ahead and leave. You are interchangeable. You don't count.

Market Access is what counts. We are a force to be reckoned with. We made Humira and by year's end we will have both Sky and Rin in leaderships access positions. You clowns don't sell anything, you simply pull through what we sell.

Go ahead. Leave. You will be replaced by next Thursday.

I have to say one thing about youngsters getting into this industry is... they want instant results, they want fast and nimble, they want to be heard and have changes made quickly rather than ridiculed for having a different opinion. Some may be snowflakes, but they are all tech savvy - know how to be analytical and won’t tolerate being held back. It’s actually a GREAT thing for Abbvie to realize these folks won’t last! Why? Because most upper management here has NEVER worked anywhere else and they think they are fast and nimble and adapt to changing markets quickly. Abbvie is SLOW .... these younger new hires won’t be able to stand it. They’ll leave pretty quickly and look for small biotech. Count on it!

I think Abbvie as a whole is a great company. However, the culture in this division is approaching a toxic level. Definitely a far cry from what I and others were sold. It comes from the top. Simple as that.

My friend, define “upper management” who you claim “never worked anywhere else”. C suite Director level and above? RMs? DMs? You’re wrong and I’ll prove it if and when you respond.

The culture shift is directly attributable to the “shortuguese sheister”

I sell a 64 year old drug with no managed care and would eat you up on a sales call, please leave so I can interview for it. Biologic reps think that the brown substance leaving their ass smells like frosting. Not one of you would last through our training cycle. Shut up and go sell, you Louis Vuitton bag carrying stiff!

All the reasons people are leaving are different for each person. This is a very over simplification. The culture at Abbvie starts first with DMs, then RDs, then senior leadership. Yes senior leadership sets a tone, but most people define their culture by their local leadership. This changes with each person in each area of the country. Launch bonuses were small, however overall pay is still great and has great potential. Overall turnover has been normal, with a bit more in some regions.

Yeah especially the PNW where leadership has been toxic for years!

First of all, Cosentyx has been the number one nrx for a year in PsA - there was a big ole sign at ACR. Otezla makes a ton of money because it doesn’t cost a thing to make it. The pde4 that’s indicated for copd has a cash price of 10% of Otezla. The JAK still got the black box warming.

‘Secondly, no one cares what they sell - market leader or not. They care about how they get PAID and how they are managed.
