Advice From a World renowned Surgeon practicing for 30 years.

Covid 19 particle size averages 125 nanometers( 0.125 ) microns. The range is 0.06 microns to .14 microns. An N 95 mask filters down to 0.3 microns. An NP 95 mask blocks few if any virions. Other surgical masks and home made masks do the following 1) Allow free passage both ways ( in and out) of Covid virions. 2) They become a warm damp moist reservoir of Covid 19 particles in asymptomatic carriers. For surgeons years of training humiliation and intimidation teach us to touch NOTHING except surgical field. Lay people constantly touch, rearrange and manipulate their masks. Wonderfully Inoculating thousands of virus particles onto their bare or even worse yet gloved hands. These absurd masks ENCOURAGE the fomite transmission from hand to face. Masks provide a false sense of security and pose a danger.

I have not seen any evidence to suggest masks work or don't work but if it means a 90 year old person feels safer I'll wear it for them. Most masks for the covid are made free of charge so it costs nothing to respect life and other people's opinion. If somebody insane who you loved wanted to only speak to you under a blanket with a flashlight you would respect the person's wishes. Be Safe, Be kind, Be understanding, don't be a dick...

60 Minutes interview with Dr. Anthony Fauci on March 8th.

Right now, in the United States, people should not be walking around with masks.”

“You’re sure? Because people are listening really closely to this,” the interviewer tells him.

“No, there’s no reason to be walking around with a mask,” Fauci answers.

“When you’re in the middle of an outbreak wearing a mask might make people feel a little bit better, and it might even block a droplet but it’s not providing the perfect protection that people think that it is, and often there are unintended consequences – people keep fiddling with the masks and they’re touching their face.”
