You could lay off half the oncology peoples and never know they’re gone. They only submit fraudulent metrics and attend meetings now

The train is coming. The purchase of Celgene is almost done. Caforio needed the deal to go through to save himself. If it would have failed, BMS would owe Celgene at least 2 billion dollars and Caforio would have been gone. For the old-timers, there will be no buy out and you may be forced out which will be good for you. A nice severance package should be available for you. The newbies? Last one in first one out. They are ready to reduce headcount by the end of the 2 qtr or beginning of the 3rd. Good luck to you all.

So they’ll keep everybody at Celgene and discard us...don’t think so!

Different company, same caterers. What real difference does it make who gets laid off? The next box checkers shall remain

The gravy train for BMS is over. Not all keep a job. Celgene has some value. BMS needs that and there will be cuts. Good luck everyone.

But how will the oncology reps find another job that allows them to work one day a week?

    They won’t. Party is over!

    1. You're not an 'HR Insider'
    2. Layoffs need not be confirmed. It's been publicly stated - where do you think the billions in efficiencies are coming from?

The community IO reps are literally just dead company weight. Are they like a tax write off?

What's the latest on when this deal will close and when the first wave of layoffs will be?

Its a moving target, but here in Princeton, the most likely date is July 19th.

Wow - that soon - do you think there will be a lot of R&D layoffs?

July 19 is Day One only.
We will learn a lot through leaks who's in charge of the teams for which leadership was revealed last week.
Those in the RIF will be notified by Sep 13 but they won't be actually off payroll until 12-31-19
Those who survive will be made aware of their new position, unit and leadership Sep 13 but actual integration will be different for different groups over Q4.
All of commercial will have a national meeting January 13-17 in Orlando
R&D will meet January 8-10 in NYC

Sept 13th thru December 31... that’s a loooooong warning period. But I’ll take it!
Think they will make us work during that time?
