If this is how Cardinal people talk - thank God I'm not working for them. The racial comment was very inappropriate. Second of all, if you were counting to 21 and needed to take off your shoes to count toes, wouldn't you have to have an extra toe to get to 21? Do you also have to have an extra chromosome to work at Cardinal?

I don't work for McKesson, I work for AmerisourceBergen and would love to get into taking crap about ABC. The place is an absolute joke and the worst place I have worked out. If any of you McKesson folk have a thought of going to work for the competitor don't do it. The grass is greener here at ABC because of the septic tank! I really hope Mckesson is a better place than ABC if not there are a whole lot more of unhappy people than just us at ABC.
So I would love to bash the competitor with ya, get it off my chest, since we become targets there if we speak up. Let the party begin!

McKesson is a great place to work. I hate to say it because at heart I am an anarchist. But they take care of their people. Promote and develop employees. Overall a 9/10.
Having working for 4 of the Fortune 100 I can say that McK is the best yet. But they do expect you to perform.

Any OMDP candidates that read this. You would be a fool to turn down an offer.

    Re: McKesson Pharma Sucks!!!

I use to love working for Mckesson it was a driven company with integrity and they were focused on developing internal talent. Now I absolutely hate it. HR and our development process has changed and the focuse is only on the $$$.

They cover that us with a smoke screen they call ICARE. These rules only apply to hourly employees, it's not an idea, ICARE is their rule.

HR should work to be a catalyst for the employer and employee, instead they are very clear about who's side they are on. They claim to have an open door policy but are cleary annoyed when you walk in to address anything or ask a question. As far as how they treat you, well I can only speak for the DC Pharma location, the HR and distribution center upper management are so blatantly unfair, rude and disrepectful. Don't these people realize success lies in good employees? Good employees to them look exactly like they do, don't mind being pushed around and are yes men! They want you to tell them just what they want to hear. It's a show the first week and then they put te show on when Corp. reps fly in for the day.

After the week you start, you are on your own.. Figur it out. Sink or swim... just don't ask questions, it takes up time and time is $.

If you were accustomed to making a significant contribution in a previous organization, get used to doing managers work at entry level hourly pay, get use to taking complaint calls without being able to address issues with a resolution. Get use to matching things on spreadsheets and stacking paper and doing work that wasn't intended for you. The training systems in this organization are a joke! Get use to self learing at the last minute and learn to cover for all the other departments without any additional pay or recognition... Employees are used, abused, not appreciated and tossed out in to the cold wet. I miss the old days !!!

I've worked for other organizations this size and those experiences do not compare with McKesson. I do believe it may have something to do with the kind of people who typically stay with this employer. HR has been picking them and as I said earlier, they pick clones. It doesn't take more than a few weeks to realize that there is something crazy and wrong going on at McKesson. If you are like most of us and expect to be paid and recognized for the hard work you put in... Well run, run like Hell!! The good have either left, want to leave, or are about to be let go, the current ICARE focuse seems to be... lets focuse on what they did wrong and not what they do right. WHat ICARE letter is that? There's no career here, it's just a job.. and they sure let you know that you are always replaceable. Save your selfesteem and just move on....

    Re: McKesson Sucks!!!

AMEN.. We have a power hungry teenager as our assistant Ops manager who has been left with the power to run the distribution center. All of the mangers , sales and supervisors hate him and voice it. How are hourly employees to feel?. We've have a hot seat in the Ops managers position so the door keeps revolving. I use to love it there, but all the people that cared have left. Now it's all for 1 and 1 for self. Customer centered is someone elses job and customer focuse is only important if its a high$ customer and if a VP has been copied on the issue. No one seems to care about the hourly employees that do all the work in the warehouse we are the back bone of the operation. So much for appreciation and recognition.

    Re: McKesson Sucks

Worse company I ever worked for. Relegated to a call center working for a supervisor who said he had a "GED/High School none-of-your business" degree who was derogatory to the new hire team. No one in upper management had any sales experience in pharma. Abusive to employees, derogatory comments, corrupt. Incompetent. All over each others' back to save their jobs.

I know of a person who was reliable, responsible, top performer with excellent quality assurance stats to prove it in this call center who was mistreated by management. No body liked it and wanted to leave. Those that stay adapted to the environment to be just as toxic and corrupt as the management team. All Losers who stayed in that environment. Stupid women who knew they were being discriminated against and allowed to be mistreated.

Certainly there are probably good areas in McKesson but this call center is corrupt and it is at a cost for competent professionals who left who could have added a lot of value to the organization.
